Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix Trophy Guide

Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix Trophy Guide

Here is the Complete List of Trophies for Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix on PS3. Theeeere’s 56 of them! In order to obtain all trophies, you must play a minimum of 3 playthroughs! Try combining trophies with whichever difficulty you’re using. I’m leaving Proud on it’s own, since it’s hard enough, and Beginner i’m doing with Speedster and Unchanging Armor. Everything else I’m doing in my main playthrough, the Normal difficulty. It is possible to get the Undefeated trophy in Beginner as well.. doesn’t really matter :P My suggested schedule of game modes is to do Normal, then Beginner, and finally Proud so that you can enjoy the game on your first playthrough without having to worry much.

SPECIAL NOTE about the beginning of the game! There will be two opportunities for choices; first being the weapons you “choose” and “give up”. There’s also choices when asked by characters based on, what appears to be, personal choice. Both of these will affect your stats, EXP, and order of skills. If you’d like help with these choices for a preferred style of gaming, strategywiki.org has two wonderful tables to help you!

Kingdom Hearts Master - Platinum

Simple! Do all the things! Every last thing! Get all the other trophies and then you can call yourself a Kingdom Hearts Masterrrr ~

Proud Player - Gold

For this you must clear Final Mix on Proud Mode. This could take some skill, so if you’re new to the game, I suggest making this your last playthrough. Note: Beating the game on Proud Mode does not give you the trophies for Normal and Beginner mode!

Final Mix Master - Silver

Yup. Just gotta beat the game. Go and have some fun!

Novice Player - Bronze

Beat the game on Beginner Mode. I doubled this up with Speedster and Unchanging Armor so I could kill three birds with one stone. It was actually still pretty difficult, even on Beginner Mode.

Unchanging Armor - Silver

Beat the game without changing your equipment. This includes keyblades and accessories. I’m going to assume this goes for Donald and Goofy’s equipment as well, but I didn’t test it. I don’t advise you test it out either :P

Undefeated - Silver

Beat the game without using a continue. This isn’t as hard as it sounds. Thankfully, whenever you die, you have the option of continuing or loading up your last save. If you save often enough, you should be able to go through the whole game using the Load Save option without too much of a problem.

Speedster - Gold

Beat the last boss (World of Chaos in End of the World) in under 15 hours. After playing the game through once, and perhaps having a walkthrough handy, this shouldn’t be too hard. I managed to do it in about 11.. I tried going for under 10 hours but I had to grind a bit to get my Aeroga spell D: I also skipped all the cutscenes so that I don’t waste time, just in case I was cutting it short.

He Who Doesn’t Exist - Bronze

Beat the Mysterious Man in Hollow Bastion. Apparently this is the hardest fight in this game. I just recently beat him (which got me three other trophies for completing the Journal as well) and honestly, he wasn’t that hard at all.. but since this was the last boss I did, I was at level 80. All it took was Aeroga and a Tink summon and you’re good to go. Just in case, I would put things like Second Chance and Leaf Bracer on. It’s insanely helpful to have MP Rage on so you can continue your Aeroga’s. You can use Graviga to slow his assault down a bit when he starts flying around, but still.. button mashing got me through this fight in about 3 minutes. Keep an eye out for one of his last attacks, which changes your battle options from Attack/Magic/Item to Shock and Release. If you’re not paying attention, even at a high level, this could take you out.. like it did to me the first time I tried it. If you’re looking to beat him at a lower level, I would suggest a guide like this one.

The Cloaked Shadow - Bronze

Beat the Phantom at the Clock Tower. Self explanatory, not so easy. Talk to Tinkerbell inside the Ship with Peter Pan in your party and she’ll lose her mind about going to the Clock Tower (which is inaccessible by any other means after you seal the keyhole). Once there, you’re greeting by this badass in his cloak. I would like to advise you to have Curaga and Stopra on your “holy shit” list (pressing L1 + designated button) because there are probably going to be a lot of close calls. The biggest problem this guy poses is his Doom spell, where he aims for Peter Pan, then Donald/Goofy, then you in order. The giant clock (and a timer over the Doomed’s head fortheloveofgodignorethatgrammarabomination) will tick down until the characters ultimate demise. They can’t be brought back after death, so you better pay attention! You can put this death parade on hold by casting Stop on the giant clock (just lock on) and that’ll hold it for a little while. So while you’re avoiding attacks and keeping an eye on your doomed comrades, you must also attack. The only way the Phantom takes damage is when his little heart glows a certain color underneath his cloak. Red = Fire spell, Blue = Blizzard spell, Yellow = Thunder spell, and White = Physical damage. Since this obviously takes up a lot of magic (not even counting curing yourself), you should really only have Elixirs or Ethers on you when going into this. Same goes for the stock on your party. It would also help to have Goofy with MP Gift in there somewhere. Continue casting Stop on the clock and attacking the Phantom directly for a few rounds and that should get you to the end pretty easily, but make sure you avoid one of his attacks; the homing-fuck-ball-of-almost-always-death. He’ll hover in front of the clock (usually) and open his arms wide for a friendly hug. Since you’re beating him up, this hug turns into a little purple ball that you cannot outrun. I mean maybe you can if you dodge around the Clock Tower well enough, but it’s really much easier to just hit it with Aeroga or your keyblade to get rid of it. This attack, once it touches you, can hit up to five times and it packs a wallop. No joke. This could kill you, especially if the Phantom comes up behind you and slashes at you when you have like 3 HP left. Avoid this attack at all costs.

The Sandy Blade - Bronze

Beat Kurt Zisa in Agrabah. Near the end of the game, you can talk to the Flying Carpet in Aladdin’s room (who is just throwing an absolute fit) and you’ll come right up upon Kurt Zisa. He’ll cast Silence on you to stop your magic and then roam around holding little black energy balls. You need to break these (thus receiving HP balls woo!) in order to get your magic back. Then, he’ll fall over and pathetically try to bite you. These measly attacks can be easily deflected so my advice is to just lock on to his face and go crazy. Once he snaps out of it, he’ll most likely form a barrier around himself that can only be broken with magic. He also spreads out some giant firey balls of doom for you to knock into and get hurt, but if you block them, they’ll go zooming right at his barrier. Ha ha ha ~ … I didn’t do that. I’m very impatient, so I just spammed Firaga at him and attacked the barrier physically. When you bash your keyblade against the barrier, it drops MP balls which are so coincidentally helpful! Near the end of the fight, he’ll start spinning his swords all over the stage (which could take a very good chunk out of your HP) so practice your well-timed dodge rolls and, if you can spare the Magic, cast Aeroga on yourself to lessen the damage. Lather, rinse, and repeat through these different modes and the fight is yours!

Novice Hero - Bronze

Win the Phil Cup. Easy to do near the beginning of the game. There’s no shame in waiting until the end to make this obnoxiously easy, though ~ The recommended level for this is 20 and there are 10 Seeds.

Artisan Hero - Bronze

Win the Pegasus Cup. This will be unlocked after finishing Monstro. The recommended level for this is 30 and there are 10 Seeds.

Hero of the Coliseum - Bronze

Win the Hercules Cup. This will be unlocked after sealing Halloween Town AND Neverland. The recommended level for this is 40 and there are 10 Seeds.

Coliseum Champion - Bronze

Win the Hades Cup. This will be unlocked after sealing Hollow Bastion. The recommended level is 50 and there are 50 seeds, but honestly the higher the level the better. This is a long Cup, but you can take breaks and come back after every 10 Seeds.

The Frosty Giant - Bronze

Beat the Ice Titan in the Gold Match. This is a very long fight but not too difficult once you have a rhythm going. The most important thing here is to NOT USE AERO. Using Aero instead of the simple Guard will cause the icicles he flings at you to become too big to block, thus killing you mercilessly. Another important tip is to be constantly moving around, preferably on the bleachers. He’ll shoot little icicles at you, which you should Guard against to send them back at him, summon a myriad of larger icicles to pop up out of the ground underneath you, and he has an “ultimate attack” so to speak. If you keep moving and Guard at the right times, you’ll be able to knock him down. Here, you rush in and start going nuts on his face, using Ars Arcanum or Ragnarok if you so choose. I’d save the magic for healing though. Near the end of the fight, he’ll throw his hands in the air like he just don’t care and unleash a devastating attack onto you … unless you’re in one of the top corners of the bleachers! Haha, this is why it helps to be there. You’ll have little to no notice of this attack, so you want to be near a corner at all times. At this point, he might also breathe some ice at you, which would freeze you in your place and leave you open for any of his other attacks. Included in his ultimate freeze off is the dropping of large ice boulders on your head, which can similarly be dodged by moving around at lot. Basically you just have to pay attention, dodge/guard, and run to the corner the whole fight.

One-Winged Angel - Bronze

Beat Sephiroth in the Platinum Match. I beat him and I am putting that on my resume I swear. It was such a triumphant moment for me. I will highly suggest using the Ultima Keyblade if you can and having a lot of Elixirs/Hi Potions on you. It’s also somewhat necessary to have the Second Chance and Strike Raid skills, and it would simply be helpful to have Guard and Dodge Roll as well. You start the battle (with that badass music of course) by hitting each other back and forth. I spammed my Aeroga at all times to soften his huge hits. His first HP bar is invisible so don’t be upset and feel like you’re not doing anything. Trust me, you are! Eventually, about the time when his pinkish/red bar is gone, he’ll bring out the big guns. He can cast Death and if it hits you without the Second Chance ability on, guess what, you’re dead. Although even with the Second Chance ability, you don’t have much of a chance. It leaves you with 1 HP + 0 MP and Sephiroth just loves to come up and slash you with his sword. Only luck would save you there. My advice is to cancel the attack before he gets it going. Strike Raid is helpful here. There will be a bright, orangey-red halo around him and he’ll dramatically grip his fist to start the spell. If you’re close enough, hit him immediately. If you’re not, make sure you’re locked on and hit Triangle as many times as you can in a second to use Strike Raid. You have to be quick on this so make sure you’re always locked on to him. When you start to widdle him down, he’ll throw in his Omnislash attack and Meteor + Ultima. Most guides say that you can Guard and Dodge Roll to avoid most of his Slashes and then using Strike Raid as many times as you can while he casts Meteor and Ultima. Using the skill makes you invincible until it’s done, thus avoiding all of those nasty hits. He’ll cycle randomly through Death, Omnislash, and Meteor + Ultima until one of you is dead, so I suggest taking him out as quickly as you can. Also, try not to have more than one Combo Plus (Air Combo Plus as well) as he’ll teleport away and strike you after about every three hits, so having the rest are pretty much unnecessary. *** On a personal note, this fight took me a few tries of constant bashing, Aeroga, bashing, Strike Raid, etc. He tried to cast Death on me multiple times and succeeded once. Only my Hi Potions got me through that and thankfully he was at the end of his life so I was able to finish the fight rather quickly, not having to worry about my lack of MP. You need a lot of skill in good timing and almost an equal amount of luck to beat Sephiroth. I am so freakin’ happy that I was able to do it and I will probably never do it again, in this game. KH2 is another story D:

Complete any solo challenge. Phil Cup - Solo. Easy. Done. Next?

Time Attacker - Bronze

Complete any time trial challenge. Phil Cup, again. Do this at a higher level with an advanced keyblade to make it easy on yourself.

Level master - Silver

Reach level 100 with Sora. Everyone has different grinding methods. Some round about the hotel or go back and forth in Final Rest, some do the Hades Cup or Ice Titan over and over. I did it with Gizmos. If you put on as many EXP Items as possible (remember Donald and Goofy can equip them too!) it could take you less than 3 hours to gain 20+ levels. My personal lazy method was: enter to summon heartless, let Donald and Goofy brutally murder them all, leave, re-enter (with Encounter Plus of course), repeat. Not the most noble of methods but idgaf.

Treasure Hunter - Bronze
