Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX is a collection of RPG games developed and published by Square Enix. It is part of the Kingdom Hearts series.
Originally released individually as Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix on PlayStation 3 in 2013 to 2014 and later released as a single compilation title on PlayStation 4 in 2017, HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX is a compilation containing Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, and cinematic remakes of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.
The game was released on Epic Games Store on March 30, 2021 following an announcement on February 11, 2021 during a livestream, marking the first time the Kingdom Hearts series has made its way to PC.[2]
On June 13, 2024, the game was released on Steam, with an update to the Epic Games Store version released the same day. The new version fixed issues for RTX 3000/4000 GPU users[3], although it also introduced more crashes than before for some people.[4] This release has also fixed FMVs for the first time on Linux, although only for the Steam Deck at the time - a workaround exists.

Essential improvements
Kingdom Hearts Re:Fined
This mod aims to fix problems, crashes, and bugs that are present within the PC Ports of all legacy-class Kingdom Hearts games, as well as introduce minor toggleable quality-of-life features to the games.[7]
Notes
Installing via OpenKH is the only supported method now, and not using it will lead the "Fake" bug
Installation via OpenKH

Open OpenKh.Tools.ModsManager.exe.
Set Game edition to PC Release and locate the installation of the game.
On the next pages, click Install Panacea and extract the game data of games which are going to be played.
Click Mods - Install a new mod, then input KH-ReFined/KH2-MAIN into the text field.

Issues fixed
Black screen during FMVs on Linux
Use Proton Experimental[17]
Add SteamDeck=1 %command% to Steam Launch Options[18]
Stuttering when VRR is enabled
The game stutters if G-Sync, FreeSync or any other VRR method is enabled. Disabling it fixes the issue.[19][20][21]
Issues unresolved
Random Crashing
The games may crash in random locations during gameplay, primarily when: opening any kind of pause menu, going into a scene transition, or engaging combat.[22]
Limit the framerate to 60 FPS[23]
Crashes are less likely to occur at lower framerates, however it's not a guaranteed fix.
Enable "Refresh Rate"[24]
Also not a guaranteed fix.
Audio issues
The game may have crackling sound, sound cut-offs at high volumes[25] or missing voicelines.[26]
Broken Shadows
Shadows beneath the player and NPCs may flicker or display glitched lines through them. This is especially noticeable during cutscenes.
Uneven frame pacing causing stuttering
This game suffers from frame pacing issues at any frame-rate above 60fps, as well as when running on monitors with a refresh rate above 60hz.
Instructions[27]
Using the Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Adrenaline Software, Cap the framerate to 60 FPS and force Vsync on for the desired game.
From the in-game settings for the desired game; set Screen Mode to either Borderless Windowed or Fullscreen; then set Frame Rate to Unlocked; lastly set Refresh Rate to OFF.
Alternatively, try:
Instructions[28]
Default game settings in Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Adrenaline Software.
In Windows settings, go to System > Display > Advanced Display Settings and set Refresh Rate to 60hz.
From the in-game settings for the desired game; set Screen Mode to either Borderless Windowed or Fullscreen; then set Frame Rate to 60; lastly set Refresh Rate to ON.
Game randomly going back to windowed if using other modes during alt-tabbing
If using borderless, can most often be observed by quickly moving the mouse to the top right of the window right after alt-tabbing.
