Practise these sentences:

1. Put the socks on top of the box. (để tất lên trên cái hộp)
2. He lost his job as a doctor in the hospital.(Anh ấy mất việc là bác sỹ ở bệnh viện)

4. Is walking called sport? (Đi bộ có phải môn thể thao không?)

Exercise 1: Complete these sentences, using the + one of the adjectives'.( Điền các câu này. dùng the + một trong những tính từ.)

3. Life is all right if you have a job. but things are not so easy for the unemployed.

5. In England there is an old story about a man called Robin Hood. It is sait that he robbed the rich and nave the money to the poor.

Exercise 2: Complete the sentences with used to + suitable verb. (Điền các câu với used to + một dộng từ thích hợp.)

1. Denis gave up smoking two years ago. He used to smoke 40 cigarettes a day.
2. Liz used to have a motorbike, but last year she sold it out and bought a car.
3. We came to live in Manchester a few years ago. We used to live in Nottingham.
4. I rarely eat ice cream now, but I used to eat it when I was a child.
5. Jim used to be my best friend, but we aren’t friend any longer.
6. It only takes me about 40 minutes to get to work since the new road was opened. It used to take more than an hour.
7. There used to be a hotel opposite the station, but it closed a long time ago.
8. When you lived in London, did you use to go to the theatre?

Exercise 3: Join a sentence from A with one from B to make a new sentence. Use which.
