The company's 48-inch 4K OLED will cost $1500.

2020 OLED starting at $1500

LG's most affordable OLED TV this year will, unsurprisingly, be its new 48-inch 4K OLED - the first of its kind. The 48-inch CX model comes with the same panel and features as the larger models, including HDMI 2.1. Since LG had already revealed pricing details for Europe, we largely knew what to expect. A 77-inch OLED will, in the US, have a lower starting price of $5000 but remain expensive compared to high-end 75-inch 4K LCD TVs from competing brands such as Samsung.

On the other hand LG's 55 and 65-inch BX OLED models will actually be less expensive at launch than Samsung's new high-end 4K LCD TVs, despite Samsung's LCD models having downgraded hardware and no HDMI 2.1 ports. LG's 2020 OLED TVs feature an Alpha 9 Gen 3 video processor, HDMI 2.1 ports and features, support for three VRR systems, Dolby Vision IQ, HGiG Mode, webOS version 5.0, and Filmmaker Mode. The South Korean company is also launching a new 'Gallery' GX OLED model in 55, 65 and 77 inches. It is just 20mm thin and can be mounted flush to the wall without the need of a separate control box, the company said. FlatpanelsHD will soon publish our 2020 TV line-up articles. The 48-inch CX and the 65-inch WX will both arrive in June.
