Calling out to all the LSG owners out there, can I ask are you happy with the colour?

Reason I ask is I've ordered another R and again in Tornado Red, just cause I love that colour...BUT this past while I've really taking a liking to LSG and it would be good for a change.

Only thing I'd be concerned about is that it never really appears to look Glossy, I like my cars to look shiny and fear that colour might not be best to show reflections etc

Any advice from owners would be greatly appreciated :afro:

Ditto what Karl 75Type2 said. Only I prefer it with less chrome, black mirrors, and dark, well black and silver wheels. I also think the Pano roof which gives the black front roof section makes it for

Go for it Ian.. It will be totally different challenge detailing wise.    LSG is one of the best R colours IMO.

I'm really happy with LSG, everyone who has seen the car so far has commented on the unique colour.  It suits any variant booted with Pret's and also sits well with the aluminium trim and chrome pieces.

I've just ordered more products to experiment with getting a better gloss finish   :nerd: .  Because it's a light colour, it can be challenging and a challenge I'm willing to step up to.  The flake within the paint is amazing and offsets the reduced gloss.

The reflections get lost in the paint, because it's light, it seems to soak up it's surroundings and depending on weather conditions can dramatically change the way reflections are seen compared to the Deep Black Pearl.

Absolutely no regrets in choosing LSG

I too am experimenting with some products for my car's first proper detail, the metallic is more like metal flake reflecting colours from its surroundings, I've seen gold, green, and blue in there. The flake is quite hypnotic if you get close and can still be clearly seen from a few yards away in good light. I don't yet have the mirror reflections I see in pictures of other coloured cars but that may be down to what finishing products, are on or not on the car at the moment. It's by no means a flat colour and looks very glassy quite easily.

The colour changes quite a bit depending on how clean the car is, colours around it and the weather. Dirty it looks mid to dark grey (it's quite dirty in the picture above). Clean it can look only slightly darker than a normal silver. Under bright sun it can look slightly gold, others may somewhat sarcastically refer to this as brown but it's more like a pale gold tinted silver.

There's some pictures of mine on iCloud, follow the link in my signature below, if you haven't already.

The bottom line for me is right now if I had to replace mine it would be with one exactly the same. In the end though it doesn't matter what other folk think only you who can decide if you'll like it.

I'm loosing count of how many folk at work (some who I've not previously spoken to) have stopped to ask if I'm Dave with the Golf R. Everyone thinks it's gorgeous!

I love my LSG. I don't think it is a highly reflective colour but is by no means flat.

I think it is marmite colour. You either love it or hate it. I think it is best to see it in the flesh if you can on a R. Not sure where you are. If you happen to be going though the Midlands you welcome to see mine. Mind you it will probably be dirty.

Agree. Reflex Silver and LSG look very special on the R and also have rarity factor.

High reflectiveness is not everything, RS and LSG have their own unique qualities - RS looks beautifully sharp and crisp; LSG is a chameleon in changing light.

Reflex silver if I was ordering again, i think it looks fab with the cadiz alloys. They jury's out for me on LSG, some days i absolutely love it when the sun's on it and it looks a deep dark silver, when it's a dull day it can look a bit drab. Each to their own.

Wow, stunning shot of yours out in the countryside. I looked at LSG when ordering, but it was inside the dealership and the lighting never really did it justice.

I was very close to ordering LSG but was swayed at the time by a Polo GTi on the showroom in Reflex Silver and thought it showed subtle lines well. A couple of weeks later I had a demo car for a day or so and it was parked next to a customer LSG , ok in not so good light or weather, and the LSG did look dull.

I am biased (of course - we all due to our own choices  ) but i think LSG , and Black, are sunny day colours.

Dons flameproof coat and exits stage right ....
