Implementation of the IMO SOx Compliance Charge (ISOCC)

Dear Customer,

Further to IMO 2020 Sulphur Regulation Evergreen Line will implement IMO SOx Compliance Charge (ISOCC).

The Background / Basis for implementation of ISOCC is to meet and comply with the introduction of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) enforcement of 0.5% global sulphur cap on fuel content on a global basis from January 01, 2020 reducing the existing Sulphur content from the current 3.5% limit.

Some specific zones in Europe / China & Taiwan are enforcing a stricter policy which stipulates a 0.1% Sulphur content cap.

To reflect the increased costs for compliance of these regulations all ocean freight carried by Evergreen Line shall be subject to ISOCC (IMO SOx Compliance Charge).

ISSOC will be introduced by the line from October 01, 2019 and implemented on the various line trade routes and loops as required to meet the IMO enforcement date – please contact your local Evergreen Line sales office or representative for implementation effective date and charge level for your individual requirements.
