Design
The Logitech G502 is right-handed only while the Logitech G903 is ambidextrous.

Though the armored aesthetics of the Logitech G502 and G903 look similar, the ergonomics they afford are quite different due to who they’re intended for. The Logitech G502 is designed for right-hand use only, so it’s overall shape and tilt, along with the thumb rest, makes it slightly more comfortable. Meanwhile, the Logitech G903 is an ambidextrous mouse, so it has to accommodate both hands. Make no mistake, they’re both very comfortable to use, but the G502’s thumb rest and gently skewed form gives it the edge.
Built for gamers who need quick access to shortcuts, macros and more skill buttons, the Logitech G502 and G903 both have 11 programmable buttons that can be customized in-game or through the Logitech G HUB software. All buttons are mechanical, with satisfying left and right clicks thanks to metal-spring button tensioning. The placements of these buttons differ due to their designs, notably two extra buttons beside the left click of the G502 plus 3 more on the side while the G903 has 4 total side buttons and two buttons for the DPI setting.
If you like a heavier gaming mouse, the Logitech G502 gives you that solid feel. Not only is it heavier, but it also includes more extra weights than the Logitech G903. You can adjust its weight with the four 2-gram and two 4-gram weights included in the box, while the G903 only has a single 10-gram weight. While both are wireless, the G502 is also a bit more portable simply because it has storage for its USB receiver underneath.
Features
The Logitech G502 and G903 have the same features.

The Logitech G502 and G903 wireless gaming mice share many of the same features. They have hyperfast scroll wheels that can spin freely for fluid scrolling. There’s a toggle to switch to the standard notched scroll, and you can tilt the wheel left or right for additional inputs, such as when horizontally scrolling.
DPI/CPI cycling works a bit differently between them, since the Logitech G502 has a single DPI button while the G903 lets you move up and down increments with two. You can set each increment to adjust in 50 CPI increments, starting from 100 DPI up to 25,600 max. Combined with the tunable weight system, you can optimize each gaming mice perfectly to match your control preferences.
The Logitech G HUB software, which can be downloaded for free, adds a lot of value to these gaming mice with loads of customization features. You’ll be able to change button assignments, adjust DPI steps and change their LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting patterns. Since both G502 and G903 have on-board memory, you can set up different profiles, each with its custom settings, and switch between them on the fly.
If you use other LIGHTSYNC RGB peripherals, such as a Logitech gaming keyboard, you can sync all of their lighting through the G HUB program. You can even create your own personal RGB animations for a more immersive gaming experience.
Performance
The Logitech G903 has a much longer battery life than the Logitech G502.

Logitech has released its latest HERO 25K sensor, featuring improved tracking, wireless latency and battery life. It offers 1:1 tracking, 400+ IPS and a maximum of 25,600 DPI sensitivity without filtering, smoothing and acceleration. Though both Logitech G502 and G903 were released with older, less powerful versions of the HERO sensor, you can now download a firmware update and get the HERO 25K sensor on either gaming mouse.
Both LIGHTSPEED wireless mice get their designation from their superfast 1 ms report rate, so you get no lag between input and execution. This makes the G502 and G903 highly desirable for competitive games where quick reactions and instant movement is crucial. Their mechanical buttons are quiet and click fast with spring tensioning. You can switch between DPI settings quickly if you like for precision targeting.
Those with smaller hands might find the Logitech G903 a bit easier to handle than the G502. If you have a palm grip or claw grip, the slightly bulkier build of the G502 makes the buttons harder to reach comfortably. Larger hands should have no trouble with either mice, and will find the button placements to be optimal for most types of grips. As wireless devices, you won’t have to contend with cable drag when each movement is critical.
While performance is comparable between the two, their biggest discrepancy in this category is their battery life. The Logitech G502 can last up to 60 hours of use with the RGB lights off and 40 hours with them on. Meanwhile, the Logitech G903 can endure up to a whopping 180 hours of gameplay without RGB lighting, and 140 hours with. It’s a significant difference especially if you play on a laptop where USB slots are limited.
Verdict
The Logitech G502 has better ergonomics while the Logitech G903 lasts longer.
Amazon productWith very similar feature sets, technologies and mechanisms, the differences between the Logitech G502 and G903 can be narrowed down to those few. The Logitech G502 LIGHTSPEED features a slightly better form for right-handed users and includes more extra weights to customize its feel. Its programmable buttons are also relatively easier to reach since two side buttons on the G903 will effectively be more difficult to press. However, the Logitech G903 LIGHTSPEED can be used by both left and right-handed gamers, and its battery life is phenomenal. At very similar price points, you can just base your choice with these differences in mind.
