QuestionLooking to upgrade my Logitech G700s mouse to the Razer Basilisk wireless is it worth it?

Aug 14, 2012 1,044 48 91 So I have the Logitech G700s I've had it for a good 3 years now. Its a great mouse and I love the size of it and the thumb rest. All though honestly I haven't tried a gaming mouse without a thumb rest before I wouldn't mind having one if it was comfortable enough. My preferred play style with the mouse is always living the back of my palm on the desk/mouse pad and only moving the front of the mouse with my hand and using it with a full palm grip if that makes sense, I really don't move my full hand just the front and I leave my palm on the mouse pad the whole time. I never used the G700s wirelessly because this mouse only last about 5 days on a single charge and find that a pain in the butt so I always kept it plugged in. Now I want to experience fully wireless gaming mouse for the first time. I am on a very limited budget max of about $70 and I honestly have no real need to upgrade other than just wanting something newer and better that is also wireless. So I was looking at the Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed and it looks really good. I compared the specs but I am not too proficient when it comes to mouse specification knowledge but it does look like it would perform slightly better than the G700s. Its also listed between 500 to 250 Hours of use in a single charge which is pretty amazing. My question today is. Wouldn't really be worth the upgrade? Would Laser be better than Optical for tracking? what about the Razer sensors compared to the one on the G700s? Also the basilisk weighs 83 Grams while the G700s weighs 152 Grams. Would be worth the upgrade? No need to tell me how bad Razer quality is. I hear lots of horror stories but I already own a Razer Chroma V2 and I love it. Aug 14, 2012 1,044 48 91 UPDATE: Gonna pass on this mouse. This guy just mentioned it lacks feet pads for the right side lol wow. Oh well guess I'll look for something different. Considering the Logitech G603 now. R

I finally went wireless for my mouse with a new logitech G604. I was a cable hold-out for ages because of twitch gaming and premium prices for good wireless options. The G604 has dual mode wireless (BT and proprietary low latency/higher power modes) which I wanted. And it's been bashed for featuring a AA battery but that's also a plus as far as I'm concerned. I've been running the thing on high power mode consistently over 10 feet from usb receiver for 3 months on original battery. Is good for me. Worth considering if you have similar needs.

Hey! thanks for the reply. That was my main pick actually the G604 or the G703 out of all the gaming mice I saw. I have the G700s which is very similar in size and looks to the G604. I've owned the G700s for 4 years now but this thing eats batteries like a hog so I wanted a wireless solution just like you. It was a hard decision but between those two I finally decided to pick the G703 simply because I wanted to try a lighter mouse. The G703 is about 30 grams lighter than the G604 and G700s. Note that this is the G703 Hero which has slightly better battery life. If I am not satisfied with it I do plan on returning it and getting the G604 for sure.

Oct 28, 2013 502 150 116 I'm also looking for a good wireless mouse, but my god, every review on every site (Newegg, Best Buy, Amazon) I see of almost every mouse Logitech and Razer make have 1 star for ridiculously poor left mouse button issues. Is this really the case with these? I have some very old now M317 wireless Logitech mice that I use on my laptops that still work perfectly fine after over 10 years now. My wired T1 gaming mouse (I believe the company is now PICTEK, just going by the symbol on the mouse?) I bought for $17, 7 years ago and it also works perfectly, but the mess of wires with my HOTAS, headset, head tracking, MFD's, etc. is getting out of hand. I like the large size of my wired mouse and need another one that size. I tried the G502 Proteus Spectrum because everyone says how large it is, but found it way too small and returned it. With all the horrible reviews about the left-click issues, I'm very leery about spending $100 or more on a mouse.

Hi. I ended up buying the Logitech G604 and I love it. Its pretty large so you might like it. I have big hands as well. Battery life on a single 2400mah battery has being over 40 days so far with 10 to 14 hours of use daily and still at 50% charge. I am using the RF receiver not Bluetooth.
