twbannon T Can anyone advise on how to do this? I saw a post of how to take off the lower side vents (or vent looking areas where the fog lights would have gone) - but I can't find anything on the plastic lower grill below the bumper. I am planning to mount an LED light bar to the under edge of the front bumper so that it will be flush with the lower grill. Will cut the grill around it. I think there are just clips there and if I mask edges and use a plastic trim removal tool I will be fine. Thanks for any help. #1 · May 16, 2011 Can anyone advise on how to do this? Not certain that this is the grille you are referring to. It looks like it is not too terribly difficult to get down to this area. http://accessories.volvocars.com/Ac.../XC60/2011/3.2/Automatic/L.H.D/ShowDocument/ShowIiDocument/VCC-407672-1/NOTHING #3 · May 17, 2011 Wow, thanks. This sure makes it look like I can't get that little grill out without taking the front end off the car... I think I will print this and hand it to an accessory install shop... #4 · May 18, 2011 (Edited)

~ the covers are fairly easy to remove... i used my drivers license (slide between the cover and bumper) to lift an edge to loosen and the cover gently pulls free from the front side. if needed... i can take a picture of my old r-design cover (to determine mounting points/tabs) used before adding the factory fogs. #5 · May 18, 2011 I think we are talking two different spots though. I am going to put my solution to no fog lights in the center lower grill. Yeah those side ones (where the factory fogs would have gone) do pop off easily but I am trying to get into the center lowe rgrill to attache an LED light bar to the underside of the bumper. Or do you have experience taking off ther lower, center grill? Thanks, Tom #6 · May 18, 2011 ~ yep... i was wrong. i've never removed the lower center area. :( 0 Reply #7 · May 19, 2011 I had looked at adding the front trim as the linked instructions describe. While not obvious if you carefully look at step 9 you will see there are flanges on the grill that are covered by the bumper cover and thus it would need to be removed first in order to detach the grill. #8 · May 19, 2011 Right, I may have to skip the light bar idea in the center and use the spots where the fogs would have gone on the sides - using a smaller LED light (there are some really good quality and bright ones these days). Taking the front end off is not an easy option due to Laser detection devices that are mounted in the main grill and wired all the way through the firewall. Do not want to have to undo all of that... #9 · May 19, 2011 Wish they would just release an aftermarket solution for the fog lights. #10 · May 20, 2011 They do. http://accessories.volvocars.com/AccessoriesWeb/Accessories.mvc/en-US/US/XC60/2011/T6%20AWD/Automatic/L.H.D/ShowDocument/ShowIiDocument/VCC-345347-1/XC60,_2011 0 Reply #11 · May 20, 2011 That's not what those are. They are super bright lights. More than the high beams. #12 · May 20, 2011 Of course it will be cost prohibitive. You could change out those lights for fog's and use existing wiring and mounting kit. You only have to take the under body area off - pretty simple (practiced it myself in case I ever needed to got in there again. If you look a few posts up, in the instructions link to the auxillary lights kit, you can see a good description of taking that underneath shield off (forget the technical name).
