• Ash W from VictoriaBecause of the drug and sex references in the song, like the line "their legs were often open, but their minds were always closed" in August 1978, censors gave it an A Classification, meaning that it was "not suitable for airplay." Only radio station Double J would play it. At the time of release it only reached #41 on the Australian charts but 33 years later in August 2011, "Khe Sanh" re-entered the ARIA Singles Chart at #40

Sappers is the term that Australian soldiers used in Vietnam and since for Army Engineers. And while it can be used by Americans, it is commonly used in Australian and British military conversation, seldom by yanks.
