M Series Metric Solid Pin Chain Manufactured in accordance with DIN 8165 and ISO 1977. The range includes solid pin conveyor chains M, hollow pin conveyor chains MC and deep link conveyor chains MT/ME. Link plates are punched from cold drawn steel for maximum toughness, whilst all round parts are fully machined, case hardened and ground. A range of roller and attachments options are available along with a complete range of high-quality sprockets to suit the entire chain range. Special chains can be supplied to match existing chain specifications or alternatively they can be designed to suit our customers requirements.

M Series Metric Solid Pin Chain Metric M series solid pin conveyor chains are the European ‘standard’ conveyor chain. The chain is wider than its British cousin and the extra width means that the diameter of the round parts can be reduced, while still achieving the required breaking and bearing loads. Metric M series chains are manufactured to Metric dimensions, with the pitch always being measured in mm. They are distinguishable from British standard conveyor chains by the flats on the top and bottom of the round parts. These flatted round parts prevent them spinning within the link plates, an issue that can occur on British chains, especially after an extended period of operation. All our M series conveyor chains follow our Premium Manufacturing Standards and can be supplied with a range of attachments and fixtures along with sprockets to suit our customers requirements. Chains can also be manufactured in a range of materials and heat treatments including stainless steel and can also be supplied with coatings, such as Zinc Plating. We work hard so that your conveyor chain can too - Premium Manufacturing as Standard All our conveyor chains are manufactured using the very latest manufacturing technology and techniques. With fully punched and shot peened link plates, CNC machined components, precision component fits, in house heat treatment, fully ground round parts and heavy-duty spin riveting, our standard is designed and proven to outperform other leading brands. Cropped links from medium carbon steel Our link plates are precision punched from cold drawn steel. Not only does this limit internal stress, but it also provides a precision hole pitch and increased tensile strength due to grain alignment. Shouldered or flatted case-hardened bushes Inserted with a press fit to prevent rotation and produced from on-size chromium-molybdenum seamless tube for minimum distortion, superior concentricity and maximum strength. Shouldered or flatted case-hardened pins Secured with a press fit and spin riveting. Selective in-house induction hardening allows deep case depth on wearing surfaces without stressing/cracking the pin ends during assembly and riveting. Hardened and ground Precision Rollers Through hardening and a light grind after heat treatment ensures a dimensionally accurate roller with a good hardness even after wearing during operation. ISO 9001 and full traceability Strictly manufactured to ISO 9001 with quality checks at every stage of manufacture. Our chains are fully traceable back to their original materials, which are also independently tested upon delivery. The even distribution of power relies on accurate gearing between the sprocket teeth and the chain rollers or bush. As sprockets greatly affect the life of the chain, all Challenge sprockets from cast through to precision machine cut are manufactured to strict tolerances and quality controls. We also advise all of our customers to replace their sprockets whenever a chain is replaced in order to maximise the chains life. Note All lengths/coils of conveyor chain are supplied with a standard connecting link on the end of each length or coil. Chains are manufactured to the following standards; ISO 1977 and DIN 8167
