e90jims E so i'm looking into my next car. it's going to be my daily driver. my two options right now is a stock motor e9x m3. my second option is a 335i which would be pushing some power (stage 2 turbos, fbo, e85) I want to hear from people with experience which would be more expensive to daily drive and which would be more fun to drive https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?p=13145097 #1 · Oct 28, 2019 so i'm looking into my next car. it's going to be my daily driver. my two options right now is a stock motor e9x m3. my second option is a 335i which would be pushing some power (stage 2 turbos, fbo, e85) I want to hear from people with experience which would be more expensive to daily drive and which would be more fun to drive https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?p=13145097 Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Oct 29, 2019 Hi: I am an owner of an E36 M3 (1997) and a former owner of a 2008 335Xi with a full Dinan conversion. I can't give any advice on subsequent M3s with the V8 engine, as I never owned one. For my money, the only M engine worth owning is the inline 6. I was very satisfied with the 335/Dinan for both comfort as a daily driver and for performance. Balancing performance and daily ride comfort is always a trade off. But I have never regretted any BMW with the inline 6. I have never had any mechanical problems with this engine. #3 · Nov 1, 2019 I have both cars and the M3 is my daily driver. #4 · Nov 27, 2019 I want to know this as well. I have an E93 335is that I DD (albeit only 10 miles per day) and looking into an E93 M3 (underrated car. Granted a little bit heavier but great for So Cal). Having a hard time finding one with the exact specs that I want: MY 2011-2013, Alpine white with red interior and navi, non-salvage, under 70k miles, stock. Willing to spend up to $25k maybe $30k for it because I'm eyeballing the newer M6 convertible as well. When do you ever take your 335 out if the M3 is your DD? If I had both I would assume that I would DD my 335 and when I'm feeling like going canyon carving I'd take the M3 out. 0 Reply #5 · Nov 28, 2019 I do drive the 335i to work sometimes and occasionally go for a spin on the weekends. I'm trying to keep the mileage on the M3 low so sometimes ill garage it for a couple of weeks and drive the 335i. My 335 is a coupe and my M3 is a sedan. I find the sedan more practical for daily use. Plus, the M3 drives like a dream. Its like choosing to go out with a supermodel or the girl next door. The girl next door is cool as hell but, damn, that supermodel. #6 · Feb 12, 2020 (Edited) I also daily my M3. Love it but for two things: 1) Takes a long time to warm up for short journeys (and I go easy on the loud pedal when it's not up to temp.) 2) It's thirsty and the fuel tank is small. Otherwise it's a great car to DD. The V8 rumble makes me smile everytime I fire it up. #7 · Mar 28, 2020 M3 all they way mate... I mucked around with 435i***8217;s 540i***8217;s and traded them in after a year, but I***8217;ve just bought myself a F80 M3... love it..
