OneWithCosmos O Is there anyone with experience with driving both cars who can share how the driving feel felt between the two models? I***8217;ll test drive myself soon but I wanted to hear others perspectives. The m340i starts at about the same price a very low mileage m4 (non cs and competition) would go for. This leads me to wonder if the m4 is worth considering. And when talking about driving feel, I***8217;m talking about pure handling feel, cornering, acceleration from 0, responsiveness, etc. Also, which car is most reminiscent of that classic BMW feeling that reminds the driver of the e46/e90 generations. I will leave it to others to do the comparison but I think the real successor is the M2. #3 · Aug 25, 2020 I just don't get questions like this. They are two completely different chassis, one based on the F chassis the other on the G. Driving feel, sound deadening, telematics all completely different. Wouldn't it be a heck of a lot better to DRIVE THEM BOTH YOURSELF rather than asking a bunch of strangers on the internet? Would you choose a wife this way? #4 · Aug 25, 2020 I second your comment. OWC does sound like he is asking from a viewpoint that really can only be answered by a test drive. For me personally having an actual LSD in my M340i takes the car to a level where I've not even considered looking at an M3/M4. Is an M3/M4 more everything? Of course, it's just not something I need. OP needs to perhaps look at it from that angle. #6 · Oct 17, 2020 My E92 M3 was next-level over 335 Cp. On every dimension. That's not to denigrate the latter. It's just a matter of budget and how badly you need or want even more performance/exclusivity. #7 · Oct 18, 2020 Another perspective is that a M340i with all the M performance mods is not any cheaper than a M3, but still misses lots of factory parts(e.g. chassis reinforcement and beefed up components), and worse resale value than M car. Having said that, my old boss from dotcom era that was huge M/performance/exclusivity fan nowadays drive a base G20 330e without 704, his zen-like justification is that 50/50 + RWD + ZF 8AT + great mpg + good dealer support + 15 yrs/150000 miles factory emission warranty is good enough for him. 😇 Show more replies 0 Reply Insert Quotes Post Reply
