westhillman W The latest (v14) navigation maps are now appearing on the German VW site. So I happily went ahead and downloaded the appropriate European map for my 2017 Golf. Not so simple, unfortunately, as the map turned out to be too big for the VW SD card. On the face of it, the download file of 14.7gb should have fitted the 14.8gb card but in reality Windows 10 panics when things get as close as that. It is clear that no one at VW had bothered to check before issuing the maps, or maybe they did and thought it would be a good money spinner to charge the customer for a bigger card, only obtainable from your local dealer. #1 · Jun 22, 2021 The latest (v14) navigation maps are now appearing on the German VW site. Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Jul 2, 2021 yeah, just had this issue. the zip size is 14.7 but it unpacks to over 16. i don't get this "VW specific" SD card, i don't see how it varies at all once you format it. #3 · Jul 7, 2021 Unfortunately the low level format is written and tied to VW. I do not know how this could be copied onto another larger card that would obviously be so much cheaper than from VW. We are once again stuffed! Insert Quotes Post Reply
