Commentary

This CD player was created by introducing the latest devices such as S1 type D/A converter and CDM-1MkII mechanism.The D/A converter uses the S1 type TDA1541A-S1 with a crown mark, which is carefully selected from the latest A version. The CD-80 uses a 16-bit 4 x over-sampling digital filter to convert the signal into an analog signal using an L/R-independent S1 device. This eliminates harmful digital components such as 0 cross distortion.The mechanism section is equipped with a CDM-1MkII mechanism that employs a robust die-cast frame and a long-life brushless Hall motor. In addition, the entire mechanism is made completely floating with dampers and springs to achieve excellent loading performance.In addition, unlike normal linear tracking, it uses a swing arm system with weights placed at the rear, making it possible to read signals stably at all times.Access time is further improved by adopting newly developed servo ICs for the servo circuit.The main chassis is solid die-cast, the top is non-magnetic aluminum plate and the bottom is 3-mm-thick metal plate.
