About us

ME+EM was founded by Clare Hornby in 2009 to offer designer quality at a fair price. Frustrated by how hard it was to find flattering, on-trend and beautifully-made clothes, Clare made the decision to offer women a solution to this sartorial problem. Employing her extensive consumer insight from 15 years in the advertising industry, along with a lifetime’s love of fashion and an obsession with fit, Clare launched ME+EM. We insist on clothes that really do it all. We believe that fashion only works if you can wear a piece time and again, and feel completely confident in it. That’s why we rigorously edit trends for wearability and versatility. Meticulously designed cuts and select fabrics to create clothes that make style look easy. Clothes that you can wear in different combinations, like fashion Lego. These are pieces guaranteed to last more than one season, taking you from the office to evenings out; relaxed weekends at home to travels abroad. That’s Intelligent Style, that’s ME+EM. Located in Beverly Hills, our collections are housed amongst iconic pieces from Howe, Tino Seubert seating, and Rose Uniacke upholstery – each thoughtfully integrated within the contemporary Californian architecture, reflecting our commitment to timeless design and craftsmanship. The space offers a new perspective on modern luxury and design excellence, and we couldn’t be more excited to have arrived.

  Last week, we gathered at the iconic Chateau Marmont for a candlelit dinner celebrating ME+EM’s successful 2025 US expansion and our exciting upcoming launch on the West Coast, co-hosted by our CEO + Founder Clare Hornby and friends of the brand, Stylist Elizabeth Saltzman and Founder of The River Cafe, Ruthie Rogers. Looking forward to all that lies ahead in 2026.

  We're pleased to announce the opening of our new boutique store in the historic of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The town is known for its classical Victorian architecture and the 1300 square foot, Grade II–listed former bank is situated in Prospect Crescent. Built between 1873 and 1880, it’s a landmark that helped shape late-19th-century Harrogate. There are even two original vaults tucked away in the basement (now part of our stockroom). In keeping with the global ME+EM design language, the Harrogate store features traditional English furniture juxtaposed with modern design elements such as neutral toned soft furnishings in fabrications by London-based designer Rose Uniacke and plaster walls. An immersive space within the store adopts a full colour drench in a rich forest green, a nod to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales nearby.

  We’ve given our packaging a considered refresh. Our new bags + boxes are made from responsibly sourced, fully recyclable materials, including the paper-woven handles. It's responsible design, that's still intelligently ME+EM.
