In 2022, Omaha Public Library celebrated 25 years of art exhibits in the Michael Phipps Gallery. Over the course of that time, the gallery served as a tribute to the life and work of Phipps and his many contributions to Omaha Public Library and the community. It also represented Omaha Public Library’s commitment to connecting the community to local art and artists.

The Michael Phipps Gallery featured its final exhibition, "Bear Witness," in July-August 2022, prior to the closure of W. Dale Clark Main Library.

Work by artists Shawnequa Linder, Derek Courtney, and Joe Pankowski fill the Phipps Gallery with a variety of styles, sizes, and media. Close Open

January/February 2020: "Illuminations"

Both artists work freely across a line between real and imaginary in "Illuminations," on display through March 2 at Main Library. Close Open

November/December 2019: "Shimmer"

Light shimmers on water, or glows inviting through leaves. Wind ripples the surface of a slow river. Flames flicker. Close Open
