ATCer A Hi there, I'm going to change my gearbox oil this week as car is nearly at 100k on original oil. I've got a 1 litre bottle of VW genuine G 052171A2. I know this is correct for the Mk4 6 speeds, but is it also ok for the mk5 6 speeds? How much oil will the transmission take? Has anyone tried the Fuchs Titan Sintofluid 75w-80? According to the small print it is the same spec as G 052171A2. Don't want to put in the wrong oil, but would rather use the Fuchs as it's cheaper than the VW stuff - but only if it is definitely ok to use, otherwise I'll stick with genuine. Thanks Ben #1 · Mar 10, 2012 Hi there, I'm going to change my gearbox oil this week as car is nearly at 100k on original oil. I've got a 1 litre bottle of VW genuine G 052171A2. I will post my results up here after the oil change. #5 · Mar 12, 2012 good choice as the vw genuine stuff is best stuff to use as I've tried 75w 80 fully synthetic non vw oil and ended up very disappointed with the cold shift quality #6 · Mar 14, 2012 Transmission oil now changed with the genuine stuff. Gear changes as smooth as silk!! Car feels like brand new again [:)] Insert Quotes Post Reply
