MK6 GTI remapped approved oil

« on: October 13, 2020, 08:37:54 am » Hi Guys,just recently purchased a 2012 GTI MK6 remapped loving it so far.getting conflicting information about the recommended oil to use what would be the best oil you would suggest especially for a remapped MK6 GTI I have been given different options but would like some opinions any help would be appreciated.Thanks, Logged

« Reply #1 on: October 13, 2020, 09:08:37 pm » I use Castrol 5w-30 and have a mk6 edition 35 running on stage 1 apr & dsg remap, i top my oil up every 1000 miles and change the oil & filter every 6 months (my choice). After speaking to APR they told me I could be expected to use a little more oil than usual with a car being mapped, VW mechanic also said similar. Logged
