Unlike most places that only have your typical original shao bao, Mr Shao Bao sells versions that are more interestingly flavoured, with variations like cheese and bacon. I got the polo and chicken floss versions.

Unfortunately the unique elements are only limited to being topped on each shao bao instead of being incorporated into the fillings. As such, if you disregard the top of the shao bao, it kinda tastes more or less the same.

I find the pastry itself to be a bit too thick. The char siew fillings are quite adequate but a bit inconsistent. Generally quite sweet and tasty but doesn't stand out much.

I like the polo one more cuz it has a cookie sweetness and fragrance, the chicken floss one is easily drowned out.

Generally quite pricey for $2.30, but I suppose that's the standard shao bao price in sg. Its worth trying but I dont think I'd get again. Super creative and cute tho! Would love if they incorporated each flavour into the fillings themselves too.

Bao ($2.30)

Located at the basement of Westgate, these traditional siew baos have an interesting twist! We got the Cheesy Please and Floss Boss with #BurppleBeyond - 2 baos @ $2.30. The baos were hot and crispy, albeit rather dry. We loved the generous and tasty char siew filling!

Polo Bolo, Floss Boss & Wow Bao

Excellent siew pau. Only the floss one saw mixed results, basically as the floss did nothing to the bun.

Polo Bao The charsiew is SOOO FRAGRANT and the polo is so nice!!

Floss Bao Also good but my fave is the polo HAHAHAHA

The crust is so good and its just so delicious i think i will use up my 4 deals in 1 week HAHAHA
