briers9 B I love the N/A 330i but now i need to choose either the N52 engine or the N53. As you will know, the 08 plate N53 has more power, torque and supposedly better MPG. I am a private buyer, and i'm attracted to the N53 engine for the extra power, cheaper tax, and better MPG. Seems like a good all round package. But the N53 engine is new, has it been proven for reliability and the sound of high pressure fuel rails and injectors could mean expensive repair bills??? Would it be a safer option to go for the simpler N52 engine? Does anyone know, in the real world is there much difference in MPG between the N52 and N53 330i with autobox? I also heard the N53 doesn't sound as good as the N52 As you can tell, i've been reading up, just trying to satisfy all my queries before i put the money down.
