Also, find the yellow 4-way SIR connector. Pull the orange CPA out then unplug the connector. Plug it back in a repeat two more times. Add di-electric grease the final cycle. Road test to verify no more light. If it comes back, GM says to replace the connector (C221) As for B0101 (Discard Electronic Front End Sensor 1), swap crash sensors around with battery disconnected, if you get a different code, then the sensor you originally moved is bad, ...replace with dealer only parts to avoid future headaches. #3 · Mar 8, 2019 Thanks for the info. Replaced clockspring and 4 way connector. Codes b0024-b0026 still on after erased. I'm out of patience and have no idea what to do??? 0 Reply #4 · Mar 8, 2019 Here we go!!! That clock spring you put in is the problem. It was not installed properly. Could be as simple as it was not connected, the clock spring was not placed in center position ,...now you have a open from a broken clock spring. Or the clock spring connector is damaged on the steering column. Something an advance professional should be touching Please be "VERY CAREFUL" when dealing with air bag repairs!!!!!!! Seen too many shade tree people get severely busted up not knowing how to service an air bag system. Please read what is in red below!!! B0024 CHEVROLET - Driver Frontal Deployment Loop Single Stage or Stage 1 Voltage Out of Range. Possible causes
  • Faulty Steering Wheel Module Coil
  • Steering Wheel Module Coil harness is open or shorted
  • Steering Wheel Module Coil circuit poor electrical connection
  • Faulty Steering Wheel Module (is the clock spring)
Possible symptoms
  • Air Bag Warning Light ON
B0024 Chevrolet Description (Pretty much the same for the P0026 code also) The driver deployment loop consists of the following components: - A dual-stage inflatable restraint steering wheel module - The inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil - The steering wheel module high circuits for both stages 1 and 2 - The steering wheel module low circuits for both stages 1 and 2 There are 2 shorting bars used within the steering wheel module coil connector. These shorting bars short together both stages of the steering wheel module high circuit and the steering wheel module low circuit when the connector is disconnected. This helps prevent unwanted deployment of the inflator module during servicing. During a frontal crash of sufficient force the inflatable restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) will allow current to flow through the deployment loop. This flow of current will deploy the steering wheel module. The SDM performs continuous diagnostic tests on the deployment loops to check for proper circuit continuity and for shorts to ground or voltage. If a malfunction is detected, a DTC will be stored in memory. Precautions for SRS “AIR BAG” and “SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER” Service
  • Never probe the electrical connectors on air bag, side air curtain modules or seat belts.
  • Never disassemble or tamper with safety belt buckle/retractor pretensioners, adaptive load limiting retractors, safety belt inflators, or probe the electrical connectors.
  • Do not use electrical test equipment to check SRS circuits unless instructed to in this Service Manual.
  • Before servicing the SRS, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect both battery cables and wait at least 3 minutes. For approximately 3 minutes after the cables are removed, it is still possible for the air bag and seat belt pre-tensioner to deploy. Therefore, do not work on any SRS connectors or wires until at least 3 minutes have passed.
Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of these modules, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death. #5 · Mar 9, 2019 I understand the risk and taking all precautions. Disconnected the connector to the module under the drivers seat. Cleaned connections. Code b0024 is gone now all I have left is b0026 and b0100 #6 · Mar 9, 2019 At this point I'm assuming I have a short some where. I will be tracing all wires back from front airbag sensor. Checking all fuses again and disconnecting passenger side connector and cleaning it up. After that still no luck I will take it to dealer. Clockspring is 100% checked with multimeter horn works and so does cruise. Connectors replaced. Front airbag center replaced. I'm assuming a short along the pigtail wire connected to frame. #7 · Mar 9, 2019 At least we're moving forward! Now to code B0100. As stated earlier in post #2: "As for B0101 (Discard Electronic Front End Sensor 1), swap crash sensors around with battery disconnected, if you get a different code, then the sensor you originally moved is bad, ...replace with dealer only parts to avoid future headaches" Do this procedure, if the sensor is validated to be bad, then replace with factory OEM only.
