Network Ethernet not working after Windows 10 update
I have upgraded from Windows 7 (64-bit OS) to Windows 10 (64-bit OS) on my HP ProLiant Microserver N32L. The network adapter is not picking-up the Ethernet cable running to my router and as a result I do not have any network connectivity. I have uninstalled all the Anti-virus software, uninstalled the drivers and downloaded the latest drivers for the network adapter, motherboard and all other devices using a Driver Toolkit. Still no joy. I am able to connect using a mobile 3G USB device, but this is not the issue. I use the PC as a mass storage device on my home network and need to get this connected via Ethernet to the router. The network adapter is Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet adapter. Any ideas how to get this resolved. PS: I have read most posts online and have tried all the tips and tricks to work around this.

Any activity lights near the RJ-45 port? Are they doing anything? Sounds like the NIC may not be working. Tell us what, if anything, you see. What does ipconfig /all tell you about the Broadcom interface? More information, please! --Ed--

Yes, NIC lights flashing. Card was working perfectly under Windows 7. ipconfig / all says media not connected, but displays the Broadcom adapter and MAC address.

Check Device Manager. Sounds like the Broadcomm NIC might be disabled, or you might see some kind of warning about the device therein. Check to be sure you see something like this: The "This device is working properly" statement tells you that as far as DevMgr is concerned, everything is OK. That's what you want to see. --Ed--

You may want to install the windows 10 driver.

Downloaded the correct driver for Windows 10 and installed it. No change. Lights on the back of the NIC on and green (right), left flashes green and then stops. So I believe this means no traffic. Device manager says "this device is working properly". When the network cable is in the LAN shows as enabled, when network cable is out it shows network cable unplugged. I have now decided to restore to Windows 7. Hope to be able to upgrade to 10 somewhere in the future....

Sorry for your trouble. I have a wide mix of NICs and have no such trouble with any of them. But I don't have the particular model you've got. That said, here's a thread from Dell support that indicates others with the same problem have solved it with a new/different driver (though others have not). Before you downgrade back to Win7, please try again with drivers from this download page: https://www.broadcom.com/support/eth...desktop-mobile. With luck, you'll make it work! Best wishes, and HTH, --Ed--
