What are lads taught on the best tractor under 120 hp for pulling power?? I am only asking as i had the loan of nh t6030 drawing bales back in early november ,i could not get over it could not come out of a gap with 8 bales in a tandem axle trailer with s.s.!!!! Now the field was after a few showers but had being baled only hours before hand and there was just a slight incline up out of the field .The tractor was shod on 60%+ 650 tyres and just spun like it was on a banana skin .To continue i would have dug trenches spining so i removed 4 bales and she still barely pulled out of the field with 4 bales ,now the bales were probably a ton weight but still!! I have seen old nh7810 /case mx110 pulling loads in bad conditions and not a bother to them .I am wondering was my 22 foot bale trailer at fault or are the nh 6030/maxxum 115 gutless JJoeC

The fact that she was spinning would suggest that grip was the issue there, 8 bales of aftergrass could be sitting at 8 or maybe 8.5 tonnes, and super singles wouldnt be the easiest yokes to keep moving either.Arthur

Wider tires produce less grip on a hard surface IMO. Less pressure per inch so just won't dig in. Would probably have gone better if it was wetter!Green Grass

It was a wet field but the wide tyre just could not grip ,maybe the trailer was not balanced properly with 8 bales .Years ago i have seen 14x8 trailers drawing spuds/beet with the axle pushed back in them to put more weight on the hitch ,they would be a bitch swinging out a narrow gap though .This seemed to work in bad field conditions to get loads out of fields .Thinking out load i would guess a tm 120 would walk away with my trailerDanielk

It be down to tyres. Could just be over inflated or just a poor tyre make. M

Weight (lack of) going on to the drawbar might also have been a factor.tractorted

Did you have any weight on the front?Green Grass

Click to expand...The tractor had a loader with handler ,50 % tyres on front ,the 650's tyres on the back look over sized for it .I suppose the t6030 would really be only a stockmans tractor .Is the t6050 equal to a tm 120 or would you have to go to t6070 for a heavier tractor

What spec t6030 was it? There's one near here and for what it's at it seems to be a right gutsy tractor. Pulling a 5f rev plough, 6m ring roller, 3m power harrow, pulling 20ft grain trailers etc. Also fitted with a loader. I drove it briefly once and I know it doesn't have the SL DP gearbox so could be a Plus or an Elite.Arthur
