Overview & History

Part of New Holland’s popular T6000 series, the T6030 was manufactured from 2007 in Basildon, England and then discontinued in 2012. It was regarded by many dealers as the best-selling model in the series.

The T6030 had three variants: Delta (economy), Plus (mid-range), Elite (premium). This was the first series where instead of having one tractor with many available options, New Holland decided to offer three or four specification levels for each model.

All variants of the T6030’s FPT 6-cylinder diesel engine give 115 hp, but the Elite can reach up to 126 hp. This makes the tractor perfect for all-around work, from baling to mowing and transporting heavy cargo. It’s also quiet despite its power.

Both Delta and Plus’s engine also features a mechanical rotary pump fuel system, two valves per cylinder, and intercooling (aftercooling for Plus) to help the tractor maximize its output. Meanwhile, the Elite has a high-pressure common-rail fuel system, four valves per cylinder, and intercooling to achieve tier 3 emissions standards.

The cab on the Delta is a two-post ROPS, but New Holland’s trademark Horizon cab was also available as an option. Meanwhile, the Plus and Elite variants have Horizon cab as a standard, with automatic temperature control, air-ride seat, and Comfort Ride cab suspension options for the Elite. The premium variant also features a programmable headland management system.

The Horizon cab has a wide door that allows operators with 6-feet frame (or bigger) to enter and exit with ease. Inside the cab, the steering wheel and seat’s height and angle can be adjusted to cater to the operator’s preference and comfort.

Meanwhile, controls were laid out in a typical format, with most grouped to the right and the forward shuttle on the left, just under the steering wheel. The lift controls are integrated into the seat’s right-hand armrest. A curved grab hand rail on the right-hand console leads to the transmission up-shift and down-shift buttons as well as a transmission disconnect button. This disconnect button is needed to make range changes or alternatively press the clutch pedal.

The T6030 offered several transmission options depending on the range. For the Delta, there’s the Dual Command power shuttle transmission with 24 forward and reverse gears. Twelve of these gears each have push-button underdrive.

A second option is the ElectroShift partial power transmission with 16 forward and reverse gears, which were then divided into four ranges (A-D). Operators can push a button to power-shift between gears and shift clutch-free between ranges A-B and C-D. It also featured synchronised shifting from B to C.

The Plus variant has ElectroShift transmission with AutoShift option, which adds an automatic shifting function. Meanwhile, the Elite has the AutoShift partial power shift as a standard. With 16 forward and reverse gears, it has the same features as the ElectroShift but also provides automatic shifting in ranges A, B, and C, and a road setting for ranges C-D. This transmission is available in two options: the economy option offers an overdrive 17th gear, while the high-speed option provides a 50-kph 17th gear.

Despite some differences in features, each range of the New Holland T6030 has its own strengths that can meet the needs of every operator.
