In contrast to its sister hotels, many of which occupy repurposed historical structures, NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding is as modern as they come: a high-rise luxury hotel and convention center in the Spanish capital’s northern financial district (and walking distance from the Bernabéu stadium, home of Real Madrid). It’s also a cut above most of its sisters in terms of sheer luxury: there’s a lavish and vaguely futuristic spa with a wealth of water features, as well as a restaurant with no fewer than three Michelin stars, chef David Muñoz’s exceptional DiverXO. This is a business hotel first and foremost, and the exceedingly professional service reflects that fact. But all of the NH Collection hotels are influenced by contemporary boutique-hotel design, this one perhaps more than most — perhaps it’s the fact that a new build means a blank canvas, but the Eurobuilding’s public spaces are little short of spectacular, filled with unusual design pieces and eye-catching contemporary art. The rooms, as ever, are more sedate, but hardly less handsome, their minimalist lines and neutral tones brought to life by focused pops of red or violet. “Mood rooms” include colorful mood lighting, while the VIP suites feel like modern design showrooms — and all levels of accommodation are equipped for flawless luxury-hotel comfort.
