I'll work fine for your Xeon. It cools my badly overclocked 3770k really well, which I think is 77 watts.

It doesn't have one? you can't predict the temps either its different on a case to case basis.

Posted September 18, 2015 I don't understand what you're talking about.
TDP does not represent the real wattage draw and after you OC your cpu, there is no point in the tdp score any longer. I know my cpu power draw and interested in capabilities of the cooler with my OCed cpu.

It has tdp which is not an accurate score after OC. I can predict by messuring the power draw from different case and getting bench test from anandtech

80C under prime95, but I have shitty xigmatek dark knight 2 / Aegir
Tdp is not accurate for me after OC and anandtech have a good review with wattage benchtest

Your OP is asking how many watts the cooler draws, and very poorly written.

80°C under prime 95 is o.k., with the nh d14 it might be 5-10°C lower or so.

That's the reason why I was looking for any info on max wattage dissipation. 5-10C is not a enough for spending money on two d14s. If anandtech temperature results are precise I should be looking at a 20-25C lower temperatures. Which might be realistic result knowing that my coolers are half the weight/surface area of d14s. 5C can be achieved by very good thermal paste alone ![]()

mhh, where did you find a test with 25°C difference?
The Xigmatek dark knight is not that shabby and performs pretty much like all the other 120mm single tower fans with a couple of heatpipes like a 212.
Compared to a high end heatsink the difference is usually 5-10°C and in all direct test Ive found the difference was somewhere in that range.
But anyways, your cpus to not throttel or explode ( or are you running them at 100% for long periods of time?)

It's two of them in their, OCed to 4.4Ghz and it is toasty. To be honest I'm not afraid of them exploding as long as rendering times are very good. Another 6 core xeon will cost around 80GBP. Damn, if you're right about the max 10C bump, there will be not a lot of room for overclocking even more. I might try just buy one and see what is the difference in real world. Thank you very much

The difference in degrees will be larger with more oc'ing. 5c lower at idle says a lot more than 5c lower at load.
This might help show the difference: http://www.overclock.net/t/718065/xigmatek-dark-knight-versus-noctua-nh-d14-results

At 4.4Ghz / 1.3625V / Pirme95 = 93C. I down clocked it to 4Ghz for the sake of temperatures. At 4ghz / 78C
