Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs. In this section, we are going to illustrate the Olympus E-M10 II and Fujifilm X100 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Olympus E-M10 II has external dimensions of 120 x 83 x 47 mm (4.72 x 3.27 x 1.85″) and weighs 390 g (0.86 lb / 13.76 oz) (including batteries). Fujifilm X100 has external dimensions of 126 x 75 x 54 mm (4.96 x 2.95 x 2.13″) and weighs 445 g (0.98 lb / 15.70 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Olympus E-M10 II and the Fujifilm X100. Olympus E-M10 II is 6mm narrower and 7mm thinner than Fujifilm X100 but it is also 8mm taller. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Fujifilm X100 has a built-in lens but Olympus E-M10 II doesn't. Once you put a lens on E-M10 II, its thickness will increase significantly.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day. Olympus E-M10 II is 55g lighter than the Fujifilm X100 but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on E-M10 II, the total kit will weigh much higher. Weather SealingUnfortunately neither the Olympus OM-D E-M10 II nor Fujifilm FinePix X100 provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. If weather sealing is a must-have feature for you, check these sections: Top Mirrorless Cameras with Weather Sealing Top Compact Cameras with Weather Sealing
LCD Screen Size and FeaturesOlympus E-M10 II's 3.00" LCD screen is slightly larger than Fujifilm X100's 2.8 screen.
In addition to the size advantage, Olympus E-M10 II LCD screen also has a Tilting feature where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels. On the other hand, Fujifilm X100 has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to E-M10 II. Olympus E-M10 II has a 16.0MP Four Thirds (17.3 x 13 mm ) sized CMOS sensor and features TruePic VII processor. On the other hand, Fujifilm X100 has a 12.0MP APS-C (23.6 x 15.8 mm ) sized CMOS sensor and features EXR processor. One other difference between these two cameras that is worth mentioning is that Fujifilm X100's sensor doesn't have an anti-alias (Low-Pass) filter. Removing anti-alias filter increases the sharpness and level of detail but at the same time, it increases the chance of moiré occurring in certain scenes.
Below you can see the E-M10 II and X100 sensor size comparison.
As seen above, Fujifilm X100 has a 1.7x Larger sensor area than Olympus E-M10 II. Larger sensors give photographer more control on the depth of field and blurry background compared to smaller sensor when shot in same focal length and aperture.
DxOMark Sensor Scores At Camera Decision, we also look at Dxo Mark sensors when available as we think it is a good indicator of image quality.| Model | Overall | Color Depth | Dynamic Range | Low-light ISO |
