Oldfordaddict O Just joined. Wish I had found this forum long ago. I'm not a young spring chicken so I'll probably make some mistakes along the way. Please accept my apologies in advance. I have what I believe to be a '68 Ford 3000. I say that because the identifying numbers appear to have been intentionally defaced. Probably will be asking questions that have already been asked and answered so I ask for your patience and guidance. There are numbers on the right side of the engine block just above the oil pan. The numbers are:C7NN 6015 S . Just below that in smaller lettering is 8H 2B. C an anyone help? #1 · May 4, 2021 (Edited) Just joined. Wish I had found this forum long ago. The #’s ur looking for are stamped into the flat spot above the starter.. They’ll probably have 50 coats of paint on them so a spray can of paint stripper and a wire brush will get u a long way.. Good luck #3 · May 4, 2021 The casting numbers, C7NN 6015 S, indicates that the engine block is from 1967 or later. The date code 8H 2B (could be 8H02B or 8H12B or 8H22B?) is a production code for August 2, 12 or 22 1968. Note that these are dates for the engine block. The engine may be a replacement, so check for more production codes on the tractor: FORD CODES and SERIAL NUMBERS FORD CODES and SERIAL NUMBERS #4 · May 4, 2021 Thanks to both of you. Appreciate the info. I'll keep cleaning and looking. Lots of baked on grease and dirt to remove. 0 Reply Insert Quotes Post Reply
