Outbuildings come in a variety of sizes and are used for many different purposes. To cover outbuildings, Phenix Mutual homeowners policies include a base limit equal to 10 percent of the Coverage A limit. In the event that this limit is not adequate or is restricted by contract language, the following ISO endorsements are available to increase the Coverage B limit or provide coverage that will apply to an outbuilding on the residence premises:

  • HO 04 48 Other Structures – Increased Limits
  • HO 04 40 Structures Rented to Others – Residence Premises
  • HO 04 42 Permitted Incidental Occupancies

For outbuildings which are not insurable or that the insured does not wish to include with their coverage, Phenix Mutual offers the BE-22 Other Structure Exclusion endorsement. This form excludes Section I coverage for the named outbuilding.

Many homeowners own structures away from the residence premises, such as sheds or other structures not capable of being used as a dwelling or not used for business. For these types of structures, the following optional endorsements are available to Phenix Mutual policyholders:

  • HO 04 91 Coverage B – Other Structures Away From The Residence Premises
  • HO 04 92 Specific Structures Away From the Residence Premises
