Fancy escaping to a new dimension? Well, those dreams can become a reality… The immersive virtual reality metaverse OTHERWORLD in Birmingham is a portal to a virtual paradise. Escape the concrete jungle outside as you discover, scattered across the island, the world’s best virtual reality games and adventures. 18 multi-sensory immersion pods and a 16-tap self-serve drinks wall make it the ideal friend’s hang spot too.

Already a favourite among celebrities in London – with visits from Adele, Skepta, Jonathan Ross, KSI and Judge Rinder – the arrival of OTHERWORLD in Birmingham gives guests the chance to try the latest virtual reality experiences with their friends – all in scintillatingly sci-fi surroundings. While other VR venues might overlook the space beyond the headset, at OTHERWORLD you’ll be able to enjoy cocktails and craft beer in-between trips into parallel dimensions, promising happy days for players and companions alike.

Ed Wardle, Chief Creative Officer, said: “With 18 multi-sensory Immersion Pods, this is our biggest and most ambitious site yet. Guests will have access to a 16 tap self-serve bar within an awe-inspiring projection-mapped space, where they will be able to prepare for their journey into the metaverse and swap stories when they return.”

Guests at OTHERWORLD, located on Bennetts Hill, earn DreamCoin as they play in VR. This virtual currency earns discounts on more time in the metaverse or drinks from the self-serve bar. Plus, you don’t need to book the full experience to enjoy the bar. Simply turn up, tap and pour from a selection of beers including Asahi, Peroni, local IPAs (Grand Central and Elephant Riders), ciders, G&T as well as cocktails from Black Lines.

OTHERWORLD’s unique VR immersion pods have transported over 120,000 people since 2019 to a paradise island in the metaverse. Where they can enjoy sixteen of the best immersive gaming, arts and education experiences, including blockbusters like Half-Life: Alyx. Each of OTHERWORLD’s immersion pods features ground-breaking 360° 4D-FX technology. Allowing you to feel the wind in your hair, the sun kiss your skin and the ground quake beneath your feet.

Each player occupies their own immersion room, so rest assured that crowds won’t be watching you flail around frantically. The social isolation lasts but a moment, however.
