Job Openings for Computational Electromagnetics (CEM) Research in Temasek Laboratory @ NUS, National University of Singapore, Singapore (Updated on September 28, 2020)

TL@NUS invites motivated and creative researchers with the relevant qualifications and experience to join us as:

Research Scientist

The Research Scientist will conduct research to meet the objectives of the research program, which are:

(a) To conduct research on advanced computational algorithms for modeling of complex electromagnetic scattering and diffraction phenomena;

(b) To develop an in-depth understanding of the underlying physics of electromagnetic scattering and diffraction from large and complex target in practical environment;

(c) To investigate and develop techniques to control the electromagnetic signature of complex target.

The potential applicant should have proven expertise and experience in one of the following areas:

(a) Discontinuous Galerkin Methods for CEM applications;

(b) Fast algorithms in frequency domain (Fast Integral Equation (IE) solver, Fast FE-BI method solver, Fast DDM solver, MLFMA);

(c) Fast algorithms in time domain (IE-TD, FE-TD, FV-TD methods);

(d) High-frequency methods and their hybridization with other fast algorithm solvers;

(e) GPU acceleration of fast CEM solvers;

(f) Fast interpolation/extrapolation techniques for parametric (angular and/or frequency) sweep;

(g) CEM based SAR and ISAR imaging process techniques;

He/She should have a PhD in an electromagnetics-related field with a solid background in CEM and a good understanding of the physics of scattering and antenna radiation. Programming experience in Fortran 90/95 and/or C/C++ is necessary while experience in parallel computing in Fortran 90/95 and/or C/C++ is most desired. Applicant fluent in both written and spoken English will have an advantage.

Associate Scientist

This position entails assisting research scientists in developing simulation models, conducting algorithm design and analyzing simulation results. There may be opportunities for future implementation and experimentation with hardware.
