Panasonic HC-VXF11 Or Panasonic HC-VX1: Digital Video Talk Forum
|
|
With the April 10th USA release dates for these, has anyone put much research in with to buy?
I currently use the Panasonic HC-VX981 for all my videos and want to stick with Panasonic.
Both are 4K and very similiar, but the VXF11 has a viewfinder and twin Camera,I don't know if I need these since my camera now does not.
The Panasonic HC-VX1 is $799
Panasonic HC-VXF11 is $999
(I already have the Sony AX53 and prefer my Panasonic VX981 over it.)
What are your thoughts?

could you elaborate on why you prefer the Pana over AX53? I need an upgrade from my Pana V750 which would complement my Sony RX10 III. sorry I cannot help with your original question.

Why do you need a camcorder to "complement" your Sony RX10? That Sony is a perfect video camera itself.

- RX10 III with my MKE-440 or AT8024 mics looks impressive and produces great low light and long reach video, but I do not think it's perfect: for example, it does not have built-in ND filters (by the way, in this respect, wouldn't RX10 M2 be a better general purpose camcorder, taking into account its constant F2.8 lens?); it is noisy when zooming, even with the above mics (I "never" zoom while videotaping, but I do zoom rarely when I cannot interrupt my audio); its image satabilization is good (I use a cheap shoulder rig), but they say BOSS is better.
- I have multiple mount system cameras for stills - from MFT and Sony full-frame digital to "breech-lock" Pentacon 6, leaving alone M42 and K mount - I do need the same fun for my video.
- I do prefer true camcorders for video vs any still or hybrid beasts, especially for run and gun/on the go applications; I do not care for DOF in video.
By the way, from recently, I have Pana GX85, which is said to be a great video camera, but I do not believe it: it should hunt/oscillate with focusing, and it does not have a\n external mic input.

And I was dreaming to acquire the RX10 (but make II) to become my travel photo/video camera. Right now I need to carry my still camera (Pentax or small Canon S90) and my (rather obsolete) Sony CX-12 camcorder. So, the RX10/II would not be good for video shooting? I know that it is a decent still camera.
