siGooglenews Follow on Google News siFacebook Facebook Share on FacebookIf you haven't tuned in to the NHL on TNT yet to start this season, you're seriously missing out.
To be perfectly frank, TNT's broadcasts have been far more entertaining than anything NBC ever did in their 10 years as the NHL's exclusive rights holders in the U.S. and I'm here for every moment of it. The NHL, of course, brokered deals with TNT and sports broadcasting giant ESPN this past offseason, ending a decade long agreement with NBC. In contrast to NBC's broadcasts, the TNT product has been light, casual and honestly just more fun. Much of that can be attributed of course to TNT's on-air talent. Play by play commentators Denny Albert and Brendan Burke are top notch and Eddie Olczyk and Darren Pang are two of the best color commentators in the business.
Where TNT really separates itself from other broadcasts though is with its intermission panel. Studio analysts like Anson Carter, Rick Tocchet, Wayne Gretzky and Paul Bissonnette are entertaining as Hell and the chemistry in this group is evident right away. But, if you're a fan of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast featuring Bissonnette and former NHLer Ryan Whitney, well... you've just been waiting for "Biz" to put his foot in his mouth. The guy is a self-proclaimed mush mouth and he has a habit of saying inappropriate things at inappropriate times. After all, this is a guy whose nickname is "BizNasty" after all.
Well, tonight on TNT Biz had his first verbal slip up on the panel when he talked about being too "horned up offensively" to take care of defensive responsibilities. The TNT boys all erupted in laughter and it's probably safe to say that "horned up" will now be a staple of the panel.
Check it out:
Oh... Biz... never change buddy. Never change.
Again, if you're a Chiclets fan you know that this is about as tame as Biz can get. I'm honestly not sure how he's going to get through an entire NHL season without letting a least a few "F bombs" or "Shitty Cindy" stories fly on live air. Again, never change Biz. Never change.
