Đề thi full part Pet speaking của Cambride 2019, dùng để luyện thi chứng chỉ Pet cho học sinh cấp 2, lớp 8, lớp 9 hoặc người đi làm lấy chứng chỉ quốc tế trình độ B1. Kỳ thi gồm 4 kỹ năng: nghe, nói, đọc, viết. Học sinh cần sử dụng linh hoạt ngôn ngữ, kỹ năng nghe, đọc tốt, chăm chỉ luyện nói theo chủ đề, viết ở các dạng cơ bản sẽ tự tin vượt qua được kỳ thi này.
SPEAKING PRACTICE TEST PART 1, PHASE 2: GENERAL CONVERSATION E: Do you enjoy studying English? A: I enjoy studying English very much I like learning languages and I want to travel in the future I’ll be able to talk to lots of different people from all over the world if I speak English E: Do you think that English will be useful for you in the future? A: Yes, for sure It will help me find a better job I’ll be able to talk to more foreign people and it will be easier to travel abroad E: What did you last weekend? A: On Saturday, I had a lie-in Then I went to the park and played games with my friends On Sunday, I did the shopping with mom and dad, and then I went to the cinema with my sister E: What you like to in your free time? A: I like to play football I play football three times a week I also enjoy reading books, especially novels And I’m keen on going to the cinema E: THANK YOU PART 2: SIMULATED SITUATION (2 – mins) E: I’m going to describe the situation to you Your friend John needs your help because he can’t decide which school hobby club to join John is very strong and fit and loves the outdoors Talk together about the different hobby clubs he could join and say which one would be best Here is a picture with some ideas to help you STARTING A HOBBY Sample dialogue: A: Well, we know John likes the outdoors, so I don’t think he would enjoy playing the piano, you? B: You’re absolutely right; he wouldn’t want to be indoors all day What about ballet? A: It’s an indoor hobby, too, so I don’t think so Plus, I think it’s for girls B: Maybe you’re right! John might not like it very much I think he might like to go hiking though, that sounds like fun A: Sure, and he’d get to spend lots of time in the fresh air Let’s think about it What about sailing? B: I think sailing is too difficult – you need a lot of practice to get good at it A: Okay, but don’t forget it’s a very uncommon hobby and it might be interesting B: I see what you mean, and John is strong and fit so he should be able to it Maybe he would like sailing after all A: Well, let’s think about that one, too Now, what about horse riding and tennis – doesn’t John already play tennis? B: I think you’re right, so let’s forget that I think horse riding sounds more exciting than sailing though, wouldn’t you agree? A: Definitely So it’s either horse riding or hiking, which one should we choose? B: That’s a hard decision I think hiking because John is so fit and strong he would probably be really good at it A: And maybe horse riding would be very expensive, too, so perhaps hiking is the best option B: Then we’re agreed A: Agreed We’ve decided to choose the hiking club for John PART 3: DESCRIBING A PHOTOGRAPH (3 mins) E: Now, I’d like each of you to talk on your own about something I’m going to give each of you a photograph showing people on holidays Candidate A, here is your photograph I’d like you to show it to Candidate B, but I’d like you to talk about it Candidate B, you’ll just listen I’ll give you your photograph in a moment Candidate A, please tell us what you can see in the photograph Photograph A Candidate A Sample answer: I see a lot of deep snow on the ground A woman, I think, is standing in the snow and holding a brown walking stick She is wearing a pair of warm grey boots, blue jeans, a light brown hat and jumper, and a blue sleeveless jacket She’s carrying a pink rucksack on her back To her right, there is a big tree with green leaves and snow covering it There are a lot of mountains in the distance There are many trees growing on the mountains and the tops of the mountains are snowcovered The woman is very high up and between her and the mountains is a valley In the distance, the sky is cloudy, but near the woman I can see some blue sky The woman is looing away from the camera at the beautiful view Photograph B Candidate B Sample answer: I can see a man and a small child on the beach They are holding hands and looking away from the camera towards the sea The sand at the bottom of the picture is light brown in color and looks soft But where the sand meets the water it changes to a darker brown color The man is tall and slim He is wearing a pink T-shirt with some writing on it, and a pair of short or a towel – I’m not sure The child is wearing shorts and a white T-shirt He is also wearing armbands The man has black hair and the child has brown or dark red hair I think There is a big wave coming towards the beach It is a greenish color I can see two people swimming in the sea, too The sea is dark blue There are footsteps in the sand PART 4: GENERAL CONVERSATION (Based on Part theme: mins) E: Your photographs showed people on holidays Now, I’d like you to talk together about the types of holidays you prefer, and what places you would like to visit in the future Sample dialogue: A: Well, may I start? B: Of course A: I don’t know about you, but I love sun holidays I really like to spend my time relaxing at the seaside B: Me too! I love making sand castles and playing beach volleyball A: Yeah! That’s a lot of fun! What about swimming? I love to swim, don’t you? B: Actually, I’m not such a good swimming, but I live the beach anyway Holidays in the countryside are nice, too, though A: I guess it’s nice to relax in the countryside, it’s nice and quite there But I prefer the city myself I like to go shopping and visit museums B: Yeah, that can be fun, too The only type of holiday I really dislike is the winter holiday, you know, going skiing and so on It’s too cold A: No way! I live to ski Every winter, my family goes to the mountains for a week and we have a great time B: What about places you would like to visit? I know I would love to go to London I could practice my English all the time! A: Yeah And there are lots of nice places to visit, like The Tower of London B: I know It would be great! Is there anywhere else you would like to go? A: Maybe someday I’ll visit Egypt I love history and I’ve always wanted to see the pyramids B: That would be amazing1 I think I’d like to see New York as well I watch a lot of movies about America and I’ve always wanted to go there A: I know what you mean! I want to go there some day, too All the shops and interesting places to visit would be a lot of fun B: For sure! THE END OF SPEAKING TEST SPEAKING PRACTICE TEST PART 1, PHASE 2: GENERAL CONVERSATION E: Do you come from a big or small family? A: I come from an average-size family, I think There are four of us in all There’s my mum, Greta, my dad, Sam, my sister, Tara and me E: Do you have sisters or brothers? A: Yes, I have a sister and a brother I’m the eldest child I’m eleven years old, my brother is eight and my sister is three – she’s the baby of the family E: What will you during the summer holidays? A: Usually my mum and dad take us on a week’s holiday somewhere, but I don’t know where we’ll go yet I’ll have a lot of free time during the summer, so I’ll probably play with my friends often I’ll go to the beach if the weather is good, too I love to go swimming and sunbathing, and I sometimes play beach volleyball when I’m there I will definitely relax because I’ll have no school E: What did you during the summer holidays last year? A: Last summer, I went to France for one week with my family We stayed in Paris It is a very nice city We went sightseeing every day and we ate out at lovely restaurants every evening The food was delicious! I had a great time E: THANK YOU! PART 2: SIMULATED SITUATION (2 – mins) E: I’m going to describe the situation to you You have been given some money to start youth club in your area Talk together about the things that might be good to have the youth club Then decide which thing would be best to spend the money on Here is a picture with some ideas to help you STARTING YOUR YOUTH CLUB Sample dialogue: A: Okay then, what about board games like chess? I think they’re a good idea because they’re fun to play and cheap to buy B: Maybe, but I think they’re a bit old-fashioned Let’s think about that one I think we have to have some computers, don’t you? A: Definitely Even though they’re very expensive, computers will be very popular with the children, they can play games and learn at the same time What about a television set? B: Hmm I don’t think we need a television as well as computers because nowadays you can get TV on your computer What you think? A: I agree How about a library? I don’t think we need a collection of books because the children can find all the information they want using the computers B: Absolutely And you can even read books on your computer now I like the idea of basketball courts though You? A: Yeah, me too It’s important to have some physical activities to Children need to stay fit and healthy Basketball is a great idea Now, what about arts and crafts? B: Yes, I like the idea It gives our youth club a nice mix of different activities and children love to draw and make things with their hands What about other sports like football? A: Oh, I don’t think we need a basketball court and a football field Besides, all you need to play football is some open space B: Okay So what should we spend the money on? It’s not easy to decide, is it? For me, it’s between the basketball courts and the computers I think they’re both really good things A: Yes, I totally agree But, you know, I think young people sit around a lot these days I think it would be better for them to play basketball, even if they might prefer computers So, I’d say let’s spend the money on basketball courts What you think? B: I think that’s smart, actually, good idea PART 3: DESCRIBING A PHOTOGRAPH (3 mins) E: Now, I’d like each of you to talk on your own about something I’m going to give each of you a photograph that has to with healthy living Candidate A, here is your photograph I’d like you to show it to Candidate B, but I’d like you to talk about it Candidate B, you’ll just listen I’ll give you your photograph in a moment Candidate A, please tell us what you can see in the photograph Photograph A Candidate A Sample answer: I can see a man running or maybe jogging in the park He’s exercising He is in the middle of the picture He is running on green grass He is very fit and slim He is wearing white trainers, navy tracksuit bottoms and a light blue jacket He has short, black hair and a light complexion Behind the man, the image is blurry but I think there may be a city with some large building Photograph B Candidate B Sample answer: I can see someone in the kitchen, cutting up vegetables They’re bell peppers, I think There’s a red pepper and a yellow pepper and some orange tomatoes too The woman is wearing a light brown jumper but I can’t see much else She’s cutting the vegetables on a white board with a big sharp knife They are on a white counter top, and I can see a cooker with a big pot behind her I think she getting ready to cook a healthy meal It looks like a soup pot, so maybe she’s going to make soup Everything looks very clean Photograph C Candidate C Sample answer: This is a picture of a doctor She has short light brown hair She’s wearing a white lab coat and she has the instrument to listen to the heart around her neck She is writing notes with a pen She looks very serious, but she doesn’t look stressed She looks calm The wall behind her is yellow Let’s see The picture has to with healthy living because a doctor helps people keep healthy Maybe she is writing out what medicine a patient needs I think it is important to go to the doctor for check-ups That way we can keep healthy PART 4: GENERAL CONVERSATION (Based on Part theme: mins) E: Your photographs showed people on holidays Now, I’d like you to talk together about what people can to stay healthy and why it is important to stay healthy Sample dialogue: A: Shall I start? B: By all means A: Well, I think one of the most important things is exercise; we have to get lots of exercise, wouldn’t you agree? B: Absolutely We should play sports or go to the gym Exercise is not just good for the body; it’s also good for the mind A: Sure And eating well is important, too We have to have a balanced diet B: Yes, it’s bad to eat too much chocolate and too many fatty foods, isn’t it? A: It certainly is Fast food is the worst, even though it’s delicious We have to eat lots of fruit and vegetables B: Yeah, and meat and fish, too I’ve heard fish is very good for your brain It makes you smarter! A: Then we should definitely eat lots of fish What about the second part of the question, why is it important to stay healthy? B: I think it’s because being unhealthy is dangerous It can make you weak and you might not live a long life What you think? A: I totally agree Plus, if you’re unhealthy, you can’t enjoy as much If you’re not fit, you can’t run fast and play games with your friends B: And another things, being unhealthy can make you tired and depressed A: You’re right And that’s not good, is it? B: No way I think you are more likely to get diseases like cancer if you don’t try to stay healthy, too A: That’s another good reason to be careful about what you eat B: Definitely And, of course, we must be careful about bad habits like smoking and drinking They’re really bad for you A: Yes, we mustn’t drink a lot or smoke Smoking is one of the biggest causes of disease B: I know I will never take up smoking A: Me neither!
