The Issue

Since the latest release of NBA 2k21 on current gen, 2k has struck out on all four NBA games since the release of 2k17.  Since 2k17, 2k has put their priorities on not the game itself but on endorsement deals, which began the downfall.  The builds are also a problem because a lot of them don't make any sense.  For instance the slasher build in 2k20 can have a 75 three which is more than enough to shoot, where as in 2k17 the slasher did not have anything that represented a good three pointer.  The Mycareer storylines are terrible now.  In 2k17 your nickname was Pres (which is a great nickname in my opinion) and you would pick between 8 colleges to take your talents to after becoming a high-school standout.  Another great feature was Justice Young, which was your dynamic duo which was called orange juice.  Now in 2k20 your called Che (who tf came up with this name, presented it and everyone said yes to this) where you don't even have a reason or meaning behind your name.  Now in the prelude, I try to get through it as fast as I can so I can get to the NBA, and it still takes me at least an hour to get through the whole thing.  Then there's parks (sigh), you're gonna tell me you couldn't come up with something new every year in the "neighborhood" after getting rid of the best park you could ever have.  Another thing, now this game is expecting me to pay 3,000 vc for a pair of shorts, compared to shorts being like 500 vc in 2k17, it just doesn't add up.  The final problem is that Ronnie is saying that they "needed" to shut down the servers for 2k17, thats just not the case. They could've kept it open but they knew people weren't going to buy their new games if everyone loved 2k17.  Ronnie currently said the reason for them shutting the servers down is because they couldn't store the data, this is probably a lie because if you look at Fifa (a major contender to NBA 2k) they have not shut down a server since Fifa 14, which was on the ps3 and Xbox 360.  So, you could play every Fifa from 15 and up online and you could probably find someone online playing it.  In conclusion, since 2k17 the 2k company has gone hill and they could do two things, one being fix the game majorly, or remaster the best game they ever made.
