Phenix's manual SLR the perfect camera for beginners

2 Aug 2005 1:04AM by ePHOTOzine | Film SLRs Like0 Add Comment ADVERTISEMENT Phenix DC303KFirstcall Photographic Limited, a specialist mail-order photographic supplier, have teamed up with Phenix, the world's largest manufacturer of manual SLRs (by volume) to launch the Phenix DC303K, a Pentax PK-mount manual SLR.

Features of the Phenix DC303K include ISO film speed to 3200, centre weighted TTL metering, shutter speeds of B to 1/2000th and a flash sync. of 1/125th or slower. Also included with the camera is a 50mm f1.7 lens with 52mm filter thread and a free leather-look case worth 10. The camera uses 10L14 batteries and is guaranteed for 12 months, offering a replacement camera within this period (when returned with box and full documentation).

Available for the first time in the UK, the DC303K is designed for novice photographers, and with a price of 89.99 there is no cheaper way for photography beginners to purchase a brand-new SLR. Rodney Bates is Sales Director for Firstcall Photographic. He said: "It is a great pleasure, in selling Phenix cameras, to know that an affordable manual SLR option for SLR beginners still remains a firm possibility." In connection with its design as a 'beginner's package', Firstcall are also offering a PH280A flashgun which will give perfect flash shots and four auxiliary lenses. These include the 24mm for wide angle, the 28-70mm for short zoom and the 28-105mm for medium zoom and portrait.
