Protective Health Gear's (PHG's) Model 6150 N95 Filtering Facepiece Respirators are NIOSH-approved (approval number 84A-9525) and are manufactured in the USA from US and globally-sourced materials. These masks fold flat and are individually packaged so you can easily stash them in your pocket or purse when you are on the go. The latex-free elasticized head straps are fusion welded and staple-free for durability and comfort. The four layers of filtration include an extra soft inner layer that feels great on your face. An adjustable metal nosepiece and inner foam nose cushion help ensure a good fit. These masks are designed to protect the wearer against non-oil-based particles as small as 0.3 microns, while still allowing the user full, deep breaths of clean, fresh air. N95 filtering respirators filter at least 95% of airborne particles. As highlighted in a recent open letter to WHO by the World Health Network, the emerging consensus is that the the time has come to replace the use of traditional surgical masks with N95 respirators. Barrier face coverings such as surgical masks were never designed to stop airborne transmission of respiratory viruses such as flu and Covid and are grossly inferior protection compared to N95 respirators.

Technical Note 1: The metal nosepiece is folded nearly flat when new. While this product is intended to be disposable, if you plan to reuse the mask we recommend that you do not refold the nosepiece between wearings to keep the metal from failing prematurely.

Technical Note 2: When molding the metal nosepiece on any respirator, use both hands to mold that to your nose. If you use just the thumb and forefinger of one hand you are likely to create a little valley that is hard to seal perfectly.

Technical Note 3: Respirators with KN designations such as KN95 are not NIOSH-approved and the market for KN95's is fraught with substandard and counterfeit products and should be considered only when approved alternatives are unavailable. A study by ECRI determined that up up to 70% of imported non-NIOSH certified respirators during the Covid-19 pandemic exhibited filtration performance "significantly inferior" to NIOSH-certified N95's.
