This course examines culturally diverse aesthetic theories. Approximately one half of the course will study Euro-American aesthetic theories, and the other half will survey aesthetic theories from among African, Asian, Latin American, or Oceanic cultures. Will emphasize culturally unique concepts of beauty and authenticity, and theories of aesthetic experience and interpretation.
