I didnt like it at first. Found an iron way more convenient. After you get a hang of it it is easier than ironing. The prob is it only lasted about a year without heavy usage and developed a short circuit. Plug it in and you blow the fuse. I opened up the bottom and the heating element had 1 cm of lime crust on it. I didn't detach any… Read more

wires but dunked it in citric acid for a while and that cleaned it up and got it working again. There should be a way to self clean. $300 to last a year isn't a good deal

No worth the money – I used mine for about 18 months before it started blowing the power. Took it in for repair told nothing wrong with it. So had an electrician look at it and it had been leaking water and was corroded inside. I ended up throwing it out. My sister also has one and it blows their power too. Waste of money Show details

Short life-time, water leakage, knocks off the power in the flat – Is it reasonable for a steamer from Philips that costs almost SEK 2,000 to have a lifetime of less than 3 years? I bought my steamer in July 2020, it was easy to use and I was happy with the ironing quality. After only a couple of months I noticed water leaking on the floor under and around the steamer (regardless of whether the steamer was on or… Read more

off), the power in the apartment went out sometimes when I was using the steamer. I have used the steamer maybe once in 2 months and neither misused it nor exposed it to unnecessary wear and tear. At the end of November 2023, I took out my steamer and used it for a while. In the middle of using it, it turned off and I was unable to revive it. I contacted the Philips Home Living Support team (Versuni) on 1 December 2023 and complained about the product. I pointed out to them that my steamer had exactly the same fault that many other customers have had (according to both Swedish and international customer reviews) and it must be due to the subpar quality of the steamer from the start. On December 4th I received a message from Philips that the steamer is no longer covered by the warranty because the warranty expired 4.5 months ago. They instead offered me a 25% discount code that can be used for 3 months at www.philips.se (household products). I will of course not use this discount code and I have decided not to buy any more products from Philips, due to the lack of purchase security. Over the years I have bought many products from Philips and have never been dissatisfied with their quality.

Considering the known faults that many customers have experienced with this steamer, I ask these questions (P.S. I have asked Philips these questions but have not received a response): - Philips does not take full responsibility in connection with the complaint of one of their products that has built-in design defects - In the product description for this steamer, nothing is mentioned about the short life span or about the frequent errors that many customers have experienced. Isn't this flawed and/or misleading information to potential customers? - Although the built-in defects mentioned above are known by Philips, the product has not been recalled from the market and it is still sold as a "normal" Philips product, with an expected long life. Out of curiosity, I opened my steamer today, Jan 13. 2024. The pictures I have attached speak for themselves. On the net, it is possible to find similar pictures that other buyers of this steamer have posted. My advice to you who are considering buying a steamer is NOT to buy this steamer. I hope Philips' other steamers have better quality than this one. I am also surprised how badly Philips treated my complaint and did not fully compensate me for a defective product that they sell in the market

This is not perfect and I can live without it – Steamer head works. Board frame flimsy. Steamer head holder did not hold head and it fell out with a full head of steam! Hose not flexible... still using an iron. Show details

Works well when it works – I purchased this steamer June 2018, which worked really well. About 18m after owing it water started leaking which caused the steamer to keep shorting out. We contacted Phillips who referred us to a repairer. He fixed the unit which lasted about another 9m before it leaked water and shorted again. It’s a great steamer when it works however for $300 I expect more than a couple of years out of it. Show details

This product needs to be significantly improved – I was so looking forward to use this steamer. Unfortunately when hot the hose becomes very weak and keeps bending blocking the steam and causing a significant drip on the garment to the extent that the garment needs ironing to dry. The stand for the wand is not designed well the wand can fall very easily. Some leakage can be noticed around the… Read more

water tank device must be used on tiled areas This product seems suitable for silk and silk immitation. Avarage to poor results on pure cotton garments of any description. Need to finish with classic iron for perfect smooth finish. Not suitable for refreshing worn clothes only refreshes them to a very little extent. Overall a lot of wasted time and hassle. Would not buy again. I had it for 2 weeks hope it can be returned...

Am is using it wrong? – It's able to get rid of small creases without applying pressure to the back board but everything else is as though you're trying to iron it vertically against the board. Bought this product thinking it would make the task of ironing easier. Show details

Now this is a quality product overall. Winning! – Came with a 2-year warranty. Doesn’t leak whilst it’s operating. Quiet. I am loving this! Worth it. Truly a beautiful design. Aesthetics a plus for me because I leave this out in my dressing room for ease of access. Colour tone is nice - and the design of the base is eye catching - love it. Not heavy, not awkward to handle nor flimsy at all. I… Read more ·  1

like the structure, clean lines, soft hose with very nice material which makes for ease of moving the hand held steamer around.

Creases and crumples disappear efficiently without much effort and easily does the job even at a medium setting. Does delicates, linen etc.

Delighted to see a protective glove is provided for the other hand holding the garment. Long run time. Easy to move to a different location. And really is easy on the eyes versus a clunky contraption.

I reviewed this item and against 5 other similar types and brands before purchasing it for 299.00. I must say, this by far is the best and true to the review of others is a quality product that can handle anything from delicates to thick material.
