There is a wide variety of transport options available on arrival. Many of the more expensive hotels can have somebody pick you up on arrival, and taxis are of course available (120,000 dong to Dương Đông as of Feb 2020). Grab and Xanh SM apps work at the airport (2025), but the price is slightly higher than for the same distance on the main west coast road. Drivers from these companies may approach you and offer a fixed fare, so it's best to check the app for an approximate price in advance and then maybe negotiate a little if it's not lower.

The free electric bus #17 (every 15-30 minutes, March 2025) goes to Dương Đông (where it's possible to switch to routes going to other parts of the island) and then north along the west coast all the way to GrandWorld. However, the #19 bus also goes 10km south to the InterContinental Hotel before returning to the airport again and continuing to GrandWorld. This is a very useful route if your hotel is located south of the airport (there are bus stops near all major hotels and resorts, and usually at the Intercontinental Hotel bus stop taxi drivers are waiting for those who want to go further south), but make sure you not to go in the wrong direction, as buses run much less frequently on this route (every 2 hours, on average).

There are two bus stops at the airport, marked with large blue signs with route numbers. One is on the departures (upper) level, on the left after you exit the terminal. The other is on the ground level, but, inconveniently, in the parking lot, at the far right end, and there is no roof to protect you from rain or sun.

The VinBus app (both on GooglePlay and Apple Store) tracks these buses online and can plot a route for you, but some useful features require you to register with a Vietnamese SIM card only. The interface is also quite counterintuitive, but once you get the hang of it, the app is very useful.
