It looks like demand for Sony's long-awaited PlayStation VR virtual reality headset is sky-high in the States.

The headset, which retails for $399, has been flying off shelves at GameStop stores across the U.S., with company COO Tony Bartel explaining in a phone call to The Street that the retailer has seen "tremendous demand."

"In fact, right now many of our stores will be sold out of the first wave of Sony's Playstation VR by tonight -- we are working with them to try and get more product," elaborated the COO on launch night.

So, consumers appear to be smitten with Sony's virtual reality debut, but what do devs make of the device?

We recently caught up with a handful of prominent PlayStation VR developers to find out. Check out our extensive roundtable right here.
