Polestar Tuning Available For Volvo V40 T4

Here at Driving Spirit we’re big fans of the work of Swedish tuner Polestar. Their partnership with Volvo has led to some wonderful creations, from the astonishing 400bhp C30 Polestar Concept to the brawny and hugely likeable XC60 D5.

V40 R-Design is a handsome creation and now it can be even quicker too!

With the V40 recently added to the Volvo range it was only a matter of time before Polestar turned their attention to the new model. They’ve plugged in their computers, played around with the petrol T4 and come up with the first Polestar upgrade for the V40.

Power is up by 20bhp to a total of 200bhp while torque increases from 240Nm to 285Nm, available from just 2,000rpm. That drops the 0-62mph time from 7.7 to 7.4 seconds but it’s the extra mid-range torque that will be most noticeable, making overtaking a less stressful affair.

All this is wrapped up in a manufacturer approved package that means that the Volvo warranty remains firmly intact. Even the fuel economy and CO2 emissions stay the same, or at least they do on paper – as soon as you start using the extra power you’re bound to see a dip in economy!

That little blue square is a sign that this Volvo driver craves more power!

Of course, the T4 isn’t unique to the V40. Owners of the S60, V60, S80 and V70 T4 models can benefit from the same Polestar package.
