BlisteringFT B I'm considering doing a modest and easy turbo upgrade to my 99 A4 1.8tq. I like the daily drivability of my chipped K03, but it seems to run out of air above 4k. 300hp would be nice, but not at the cost of having turbo lag up to 3k rpm... From what I understand, the K04-015 is a direct bolt-on for a 99 A4 1.8tq, and should be under $800 new. But what I don't know is how much torque and hp increase the K04-015 will provide (keeping same K03 chip for now) and how the low-end drivability would be affected. Nope you would be a god on Vortex to make 230-240 wheel on the Ko4-15. I have run both and to tell you the truth the gains are not worth the cash or effort. you would be looking at around 200- 215 wheel max is my guess. #4 · Oct 22, 2004 Re: Power gains for K03 to K04-015 swap? (DubGray1.8T) seems a bit low. i could see that with a regular k04-01 but the 15 seems like it should put better numbers than that. but i don't know haven't even seen a dyno on it, maybe i was hoping that it would be better

have you ever run the k04-23. i think this is what i'm going to go with. 250whp is enough for me. i hope to maintain oem reliabilty also. #5 · Oct 23, 2004 Re: Power gains for K03 to K04-015 swap? (bubbagti) I just did the K04 swap a few months back. Gains are minimal but definitely noticeable. I would say it is not worth it if you are going to be paying full price. I bought mine for $350 on the Vortex and it was worth it to me. Another $199 for the APR upgrade and I was set. The only parts YOU NEED are a few seals and gaskets. Nothing else is needed!
