America’s First Mental Health Certification for the Workplace Proven Return-On-Investment of Proactive Mental Health Education Long-Term, “Survive, Transform, or Thrive” Programming Company & Employee CertificationIn-Person | Virtual | Become an Instructor
4-Hour Corporate Mental Health Certification
Target Audience: All Members of a Workplace Community (i.e. HR Professionals, Executives, Managers, Board Members, General Employees, & Maintenance Staff)
Mode: In-Person or Virtually Via Zoom
Duration: 4-Hour Minimum
LEAD’s Corporate Mental Health certification (CorporateMHC) introduces executives and leadership teams to the risk factors, warning signs, and prevalence of chronic stress and mental illness in the workplace. CorporateMHC is the nation’s first early intervention certification tailored to in-person, virtual, and hybrid workplace and corporate settings.
Through interactive discussion, role-play activities, and an ABC action plan, LEAD empowers professionals to identify early signs and symptoms of mental illness in their coworkers and effectively respond in both non-crisis and crisis situations.
How is it Different than Adult Mental Health First Aid?Topics related to mental illness and common in the workplace, such as self-medication, absenteeism, presenteeism, and imposter syndrome are introduced to participants in a 4-hour, rather than an 8-hour format. Additionally, participants leave the course with a personal toolkit featuring strategies to practice proactive self-care and access appropriate self-help, company-based, and professional resources. This means that LEAD will empower participants to maximize their organization’s EAP’s and utilize physical and mental health resources, many of which are likely being paid for and grossly underutilized.
Additionally, aMHFA is more focused on empowering workplace leaders to support staff and others in their community, rather than their own mental health at work. If aMHFA is provided for leadership staff, LEAD strongly recommends pairing it with CorporateMHC for all other staff and teams to ensure everyone knows how to set appropriate workplace boundaries, prevent burnout, and avoid developing compassion fatigue over time.
Have you heard of LEAD’s 1:1 Robinhood Initiative? If your company is certified or trained by LEAD in any capacity, LEAD will donate an equivalent value of course(s) to a low-income school, summer camp, sports team, or community organization of YOUR CHOICE! Just as CPR helps you assist an adult having a heart attack, Adult Mental Health First Aid (aMHFA)helps you assist an adult experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. The aMHFA program, designed and accredited by the National Council for Mental Wellness, provides HR professionals and staff with a 5-step ALGEE action-planto respond to mental health and substance use crisis and non-crisis situations at work and in the general community.
Adult Mental Health First Aid introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs ofmental health challenges among adults, builds an understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adult in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge.
Adult Mental Health First Aid not only offers concrete tools and skills, but also answers key questions like “What can I do?” and “Where can someone find mental health help?” aMHFA uses role-playing and simulationsto demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect adults to professional, peer, social, and self-help care.

Mid & Post-Session Debriefs
LEAD’s 60-minute, mid and post-session Debriefs are provided after staff have completed their assigned e-course during a set period of time. Think of LEAD’s Debriefs as book clubs where a LEAD instructor facilitates a live discussion and reflection on the e-course material with participants.
LEAD debriefs utilize a“flipped classroom” approach that combines both the convenience of asynchronous learning with the engagement and experiential learning that can occur in a live, group Debrief facilitated by a LEAD instructor.
LEAD can also provide partnering companies and organizations with a complimentary “Game Plan”(Example to the Right) that serves as a guidebook for participants to complete certain sections of their curriculum over a pre-set period of time. Your company is also given one free progress report per e-course, on a date and time of your choice. This progress report includes a list of registered participants and individual reports that have lecture progress and quiz scores.
Bonus Workplace Modules:
LEAD's e-courses feature BONUS “Workplace Modules” with strategies and tools tailored to HR and corporate professionals, in addition to School, Camp, and Sports modules.
Why? LEAD uses a human-centered and strengths-based approach when developing curricula. We believe a "one size fits all" is ineffective when providing proactive, practical, and meaningful mental health education to vulnerable communities and the adults who serve them.
Workplace-specific modules enable LEAD to tailor all courses to specific environments and their unique challenges, in addition to providing general tools to individuals on the front lines of their communities. All modules are available and optional for every participant, enabling youth-serving professionals who wear "many hats" to learn from a variety of perspectives at their own pace.
During LEAD-facilitated Debriefs, participants are empowered to:
Make space to “debrief” and reflect on LEAD’s e-learning material.
Solidify newly-learned knowledge and skills for participants.
Discuss difficult topics with other members of their community, in a safe and respectful environment.
