About Us

Welcome to Public Health Institute

The Public Health Institute acts as a development institute for the health sector that promotes creation of new knowledge and application of evidence-based interventions through providing professional consultancies, conduction researches and provides evidence based policy options and policy analysis to support the health system reform. It also provides professional training and teaching programs aimed at enhancing the leadership and performance of the health system and improving health and health care nationally and internationally. PHI has a collection of professional staff as well as external collaborators who together forming a group of leading expert in the field. PHI was established in May 2009 by ministerial decree under the directorate of human resources of health, federal ministry of health which supervises the running of the institute through a director appointed by the undersecretary for health.
