Hi,
I'm having trouble finding a way to place a dot above letters to notate the time derivative of variables when typing on my macbook. I've tried the character viewer and the symbols aren't shown on there. I was wondering if there is a code you can use. I mostly need these symbols for writing equations in OneNote.
Thanks
MacBook

Go to system prefs/keyboard/input sources and add the ABC Extended keyboard and then select it in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen. To add a dot to character type option shift w after it. ẋ

- Notes and auto capitalisation I’m using the native app Note and I've noticed that it doesn’t auto capitalise letter at the start of the sentence. I've set it up in the keyboard setting though. I’m using a MacBook Air M1 and its keyboard and it is running macOS Monterey 12.5. Actually, it is the same story while wring on this website. It was working fine with the last macOS iteration though... thanks for the feedback in advance:) 2534 4
- Apostrophes and quotation marks Hello, Apostrophes and quotation marks on Hebrew Mac keyboard are diagonal and tilted (׳ ״) whereas in Windows they are upright (' "). Problem is when searching a text contacting these marks, Windows user wouldn't find the text because the marks are different. Is there any way to type the upright apostrophes and quote marks on Mac without using emoji and symbols? Hope the problem I presented is clear. 11723 14
- Bold text in Notes I have Ventura 13.1 on my Mac. Since said release, I am unable to BOLD text in Notes. Can in other apps. Normally I would use Command button with the B button. But that doesn't work in Notes. I've then tried selecting the word(s) to apply the format to, go to Format, go to Fonts, to Show Fonts, and select a font that allows for bold and click on the bold option - and nothing happens. Underline and strike through works, but not bold. Any suggestions - besides hitting it with a stick? 696 2

In character viewer, you could search for combining dot above. Double-click that character, immediately after entering the letter it is to appear above. Adjacent to combining dot above character in character viewer, is the combining dot below character.
ẋThis was done on the U.S. keyboard.
