That’s not a 5% increase but nearly 30%. Together with the smaller FOV of G2 an the loss from single panel and heavy data compression with Q2 it gives significantly more clarity at center area. For me that counts. 1 Like Player744061147 July 3, 2021, 2:16pm 22 Lol VR is the sum of it parts not just a single highlighted figure. But hey if it works for you, that’s all that matters. Of course if you can become an ambassador even better. I love VR but getting massive wins beyond your initial experience - what ever headset that may be - is simply not possible with today’s tech. Kjaye767 July 4, 2021, 2:42am 23 So after a weekend with the G2, I’m somewhere in between you and LoewStaubb8533 in my thoughts. The clarity of the G2 is much better. I’m actually surprised at the jump, as it’s as large as going from the Rift S to the Quest 2 for me. I’d expected more diminishing returns, especially after trying the Vive Pro 2 and being so underwhelmed. In Microsoft Flight Simulator the horizon looks so much better. What was previously a blur is now pin sharp all the way to the edge, and cities on the horizon actually have resolvable individual buildings. Fields look photorealistic from 3000 feet. Im definitely keeping the G2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator, the clarity jump and improved colours are awesome. It’s not a home run though. The FOV is tiny, although this seem largely due to the ridiculously narrow facegasket. It’s so tight it hurts my face so I’m looking at aftermarket solutions to replace that. If I can improve that I think the FOV will look considerably better, at which point I’ll be very happy. Sweet spot and edge to edge clarity better on the Quest 2, and I love the Quest 2 controllers, not a fan of the G2 ones. I’m going to keep both headsets, I definitely prefer the G2 for Flight Simulator, it’s a bigger visual improvment than I expected in all honesty. I’ll probably stick with the Quest 2 for everything else as the tracking is better, I love the controllers and the FOV, at least at the moment is more immersive. I can see why people love the G2 for sims though. 2 Likes japayannick July 7, 2021, 7:40am 24 May I ask how the FOV is with the replacement gasket on the G2 compared to the Quest 2? Same? Better? Still worse but not by much? The Quest 2 already feels (to me) quite restrictive in terms of FOV. gleff1 July 7, 2021, 10:38am 25 Can anyone point me to the replacement gasket information for 3D Printing? My brother has a 3D printer, so i’d like to get him to make me one. I assume there is a file that can be downloaded that will provide the 3D printer the information it needs to print the object??? fizz306 July 7, 2021, 12:24pm 26 It’s available on Thingiverse. 1 Like fizz306 July 7, 2021, 12:27pm 27 The FOV with the new gasket on the G2 feels about the same as the Quest 2. About as good as it gets for budget headsets. FWIW, the Quest 2 was FOV was amazing to me the first time I put the headset on after coming from a Rift CV1 and Rift S If the quest 2 is too restrictive, then be prepared to get out your checkbook for a Pimax or something. Kjaye767 July 7, 2021, 11:18pm 28 What face gasket are you using for the G2? For my Quest 2 I use the VRCover facial interface and their new minimal foam pad which gives me a really nice FOV of 99/100 both horizontal and vertically. I bought a Vive Pro 2 and preferred the Quest’s FOV as the vertical FOV is so much greater. With my G2, which I got last weekend I’m still on the stock face gasket and it gives me a tiny FOV, like smaller than the Rift S. It’s really tight on my face too, far too small for me. I’ve got VRCover’s facial interface for the G2 coming so hoping that improves it. When I take the gasket out and stick my head straight inside I get a much nicer FOV so I’m confident it’s a problem I can fix. Kjaye767 July 24, 2021, 11:34pm 29 For anyone interested, I bought the VRCover facial interface for the Reverb G2. Huge improvement over the stock face gasket for me. FOV looks larger, the image looks better, stereo overlap improved, and maybe more important than anything, it’s really comfortable now and no longer pinches my face. If you find the stock facial gasket too narrow I strongly recommend the VRCover replacement, Very happy with the headset now, the MSFS performance is excellent. The clarity inside the headset is so nice, I’m glad I bought this now. CyberAro July 25, 2021, 12:24pm 30 Hi I have question to all owner of Oculus Quest 2. What kind of strap you using? I had elite strap without battery but so far it’s my 4th replacement!!! All break after a while… So I don’t want anymore elite pro.. Its a ■■■■.. Or I have a bad luck and recived only faulty ones. Can you recomend any other COMFORTABLE strap?. In ebay on Amazon all same China.. Kjaye767 July 25, 2021, 11:47pm 31 Elite strap here too, although without a battery. I’m on my second, first one snapped, and Oculus replaced free of charge. I’ve had the Quest 2 since the launch day, preordered it, so I’m reasonably happy. Unfortunate that you’ve gone through 4! Player744061147 July 26, 2021, 8:39am 32 I use the Vive Delux Audio Headstrap. FinalllyFlying August 14, 2021, 9:09pm 33 Just wanna say that after two days with the G 2 I love it! First day a couple of times it lost sound, went black for awhile then flight resumed. Also onea CTD. However, second day of flying, not having changed anything (except up the specs a bit in MSFS graphics options) and it worked wonderfully! Two hours of flying, country, city and it was literally flawless! And the graphics quality was the best I’ve ever seen. Given my ENDLESS struggles with the Quest 2, I can’t imagine ever going back. And I have yet to try any optimizations (though I’m a little wary: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it..) 3 Likes Kjaye767 August 14, 2021, 11:25pm 34 Yes I agree. I tried my Quest 2 with the SU5 when it launched to check performance and MSFS looks ugly in that headset now. Games like Half Life Alyx and Boneworks still look great in the Quest 2, but MSFS looks pretty blurry. Plus, without headphones I can’t even hear anything compared to the G2. I still love my Quest 2 for other VR stuff but I wont’ use it for MSFS any more, G2 all the way. 2 Likes PabloHassan5183 August 18, 2021, 7:07pm 35 I am selling my quest 2 to get a g2, I have i7 8700k, 3070 and. 32gb ram this be ok Kjaye767 August 18, 2021, 7:09pm 36 You will have to lower the settings but the G2 runs about the same as the Quest 2 in terms of performance demand so it shouldn’t be a worse experience than the Quest 2, and of course the visuals, sound and comfort are all significantly better. PabloHassan5183 August 18, 2021, 7:25pm 37 Thank you, JGL574VRG2 August 19, 2021, 3:31pm 38 I am thinking to change from Q2 to G2. What do you think of this gasket from Aliexpress, all sellers sell the same model. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002913210877.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.204d28d2Wa95pq&algo_pvid=0732ab3d-d269-4204-a025-6c33701851be&algo_exp_id=0732ab3d-d269-4204-a025-6c33701851be-0&pdp_ext_f={"sku_id"%3A"12000022750285864"} pr4ystoo August 30, 2021, 1:52pm 39 Hi, Quest 2 to G2 here, R9 3900X oc at 4.3 all cores RTX 3080 FE oc at 2.1Ghz 32GB 3200Mhz 500GB nvme pcie 3 for MSFS Internet 5Gbps/700Mbps fiber I bought the Quest 2 as it was one of the cheapest (got 50€ discount) and because it was wireless. I’m playing VR games such as HL Alyx, Beatsabber, Rogue Squadrons, No Man Sky as well Flying VR since day 1, and every patches I’ve been switching from Virtual Desktop, then Link, then later Airlink, there was no unique setting. I’m also recording my footage with OBS and that’s taxing VRAM up to 100% introducing stuttering… At that time FS was 90% of my VR usage, and then hearing so many things regarding the G2 I was currious. Only because I can affort to purchase on amazon wrhouse “almost new” for 400€ I decided to jump. FS is using natively windows mixed reality headset, the video stream coming directly from display port to the headset (and not recompressed and sent through USB or wifi) it didn’t taxe as much VRAM as before. Using rendering 80% in openXR and 100% the sim, the image is sharper than Quest 2. I can see clearly the instruments. That was just before SU5 Now from SU5, the experience is better, better performance, no more stutters and inconsistencies. I’m flying most of the time near my area, not a complexe huge city though… I sometimes play again No Man Sky since DLSS patch… and the controller of the G2 are so aweful, batteries have to be changed more often, bigger, and while touching my nose I punch the headset with it… Beeing tethered with the cable is not the best experience while playing beat sabber and HL alyx standing in… Using the Quest 2 for all other games is way better, with better controllers and no cable at all! Like I said if I couldn’t afford purchasing a G2 at that price I wouldn’t have upgraded. But the Quest 2 at 300€ and the G2 at 400€ was a nice deal. 1 Like Kjaye767 August 30, 2021, 6:34pm 40 I agree with all of this. I had to pay £649 for my G2 in the UK though :-/ I love the G2 for MSFS and everything seated or that doesn’t require much controller interaction. The visuals, audio and comfort are all much higher than the Q2. But the Quest 2 controllers and tracking are much better, so it’s easily the better choice for active titles. I think the two headsets really complement each other well, and work great for different experiences. ← previous page next page → Từ khóa » Vr Cover Quest 2 Fov I Boosted My Quest 2's Field Of View Halfway To A Valve Index ...
