Hello dear OBS users.. I have a question.. What is better for youtube and why? I want best quality, i know HEVC same size is better than AVC. H264/AVC Encoder (AMD Advanced Media Framework) or H265/AVC Encoder (AMD Advanced Media Framework) Im rendering with sony vegas 17 pro, if you can recommend render settings that would be good. Also, does upscaling to 1440p after recordng is finished, will increase or decrease quality for youtube? I heard upscaling to 1440p will result in youtube reencoding it to vp9 which is better quality. Thank you for all comments! Narcogen

YouTube doesn't support h.265. Upscaling to 1440p can result in better quality, as YouTube transcodes everything you send them, and makes decisions about codecs/bitrates in part based on image resolution. R

For Vegas, try installing Voukoder. It's incredibly fast & you'll be able to render directly to VP9 with it. Also, don't forget to use the Vegas Smart Upscale fx.

Hello Narcogen:) I tried uploading h265 and it works fine, but when i click on "stats for nerds" It shows the video is AVC, that means youtube recoded it into AVC. My question is if the recoding from HEVC to AVC that youtube did, caused any loss of quality loss? Narcogen

Yes but there is *always* quality loss on YouTube. They transcode everything. You must log in or register to reply here. Share: Reddit Pinterest Tumblr WhatsApp Email Share Link
