jactac Can someone tell me the difference between the R-Design grill and the standard grill on the 2015 models. I've looked at images and both look :nerd: the same to me apart from an R-Design badge ? #1 · Dec 6, 2015 Can someone tell me the difference between the R-Design grill and the standard grill on the 2015 models. If I'm honest this is disappointing. I know for some this wont be an issue as its only a badge, but at the end of the day you pay money for an R-Design model so it should be badged accordingly. So for me I will somehow get one fixed onto the grill. I've seen the genuine badge and rear mount on Ebay for around £40, buts its for a different model, so i thinks its a case of doing a bit of re-modeling the rear mount :-/ #9 · Dec 7, 2015 Just rang my local Volvo dealer for a price on an R-Design grill badge kit, the guy said that you can get a badge that fits the V40 grill which just clicks into place, even on the 2016 &2016 model, no modifications at all ? The cost £28, not sure if that includes vat ? looks like something else to add to my Xmas list then. :wink2: #10 · Dec 7, 2015 (Edited) hi glad you have found one as you said not a big thing for some but it should still have been fitted, the small bits and bobs that are being removed by gealy are very backward thinking, and I think shows they do not understand the car buying public anywere in most of Europe, more so the uk we like our cars loaded, not striped as they do in china, I have always liked the Volvo R-design concept just sad to see it being taken apart by bean counters after their bonuses. :wink2: 0 Reply #11 · Dec 7, 2015 We still have different running lights eh, or did they take away those too ? #12 · Dec 7, 2015 Personally I think your EU spec running lights are nicer, but hey cant have everything. #13 · Dec 9, 2015 Is it just me who thinks the ACC radar looks awful stuck on the grill like that? Other manufacturers manage to fit it in a way that its barely noticeable, it just looks like an afterthought add-on on the V40. #16 · Dec 10, 2015 (Edited) Have to agree it could have been integrated into the grille better... But... The only thing I would say in response is that the Volvo ACC system is recognised as one of, if not THE best ACC system available on the market today... Having now used it regularly in real life situations for 10 months I would have to agree it works very well indeed! If the price of high quality functionality is a not so attractive radar unit then so be it... I'll take function over form anyday... especially when I'm trusting it with my life :wink2: 0 Reply #14 · Dec 10, 2015 Yeah agreed. Looks like you ran into a giant slug and it's just wedged on your grill. With the huge amount of things going on around the rear view mirror, I thought they'd have fitted it all up in there! #15 · Dec 10, 2015 yeah, it's not the prettiest of things!
